For thousands of people in refugee camps across Rwanda, sunset used to mean life paused.
Markets closed early. Paths turned invisible. Reaching a clinic or water point after dark meant walking blind.
At SOLEKTRA Rwanda, we set out to change that.

In 2019, we installed ๐ญ๐ด๐ฑ ๐๐ผ๐น๐ฎ๐ฟ ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐๐น๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐๐ across three refugee camps, Nyabiheke, Kigeme, and Gihembe, reaching nearly ๐ฑ๐ฌ,๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐.
The change was immediate. Markets stayed open. Children studied after sunset. Families walked home without fear.

More study hours for children. More trading hours for small businesses. Safer movement at night. Local youth trained and employed to maintain the systems for years to come.
