The C**k Who Became a Motivational Speaker
In an old African village, the hen and the c**k woke up every morning before sunrise. Both knew dawn was coming. The hen simply nodded and continued scratching for worms.
The c**k, however, climbed onto the highest rock and crowed as if he had personally negotiated with the sun.
“C**k-a-doodle-doo! Behold, I have brought another day!”
The villagers applauded. The goats stared in confusion. Even the c**k started believing his own publicity.
One morning, he overslept.
The sun rose anyway.
The villagers went to the fields. The goats ate. The market opened. Life continued as normal.
Embarrassed, the c**k asked the old hen, “How did the day arrive without my announcement?”
The hen chuckled and replied, “My brother, your job was never to create the sunrise. Your job was only to tell people it had arrived.”
The c**k spent the rest of the day pretending he had planned the experiment.
Modern Lesson
Many people mistake visibility for importance. They announce success, take credit for teamwork, and act as if the world moves because they are talking.
The ancient proverb reminds us: knowing something is valuable, but communicating it is also a responsibility. Just don't confuse the messenger with the miracle.
The loudest voice in the village is often the first to believe it controls the sunrise.
