I love going to the movies . Something i don't do much of and it seems that lately when i do go to the movies i end up going with my niblings and watch kid friendly movies. 🤔
In 1996 i watched Space Jam 1 at the movies . I admit my sole reason for watching it at the movies was because of Bugs Bunny and the Loony Tunes. Don't remember much of the movie other than it was a bit boring and thinking Micheal Jordan shouldn't quit playing for acting . FYI, i was a young adult 😜
2021: 25 years later. Space Jam 2. Again, saw it mainly for the Loony Tunes and because i needed to uplift my mood. It was the only kid friendly available at that specific time slot so off I went to the movies with 3 of my niblings. I have to say that I enjoyed this one despite the bad reviews.
Aside from a Basketball player getting sucked into Loony Tunes world, the themes of the movie is typical of it's genra: family stick together & father-son relationship.
However, there were several other themes which makes the movies enjoyable for adults :
1- A reminder for us to stop taking ourselves too seriously . going silly and having fun does not hinder our success. On the contrary, it might give us a great push & opportunity. Speaking of, this is a KID movie that stars Bugs Bunny!! . It is supposed to be FUN and SILLY so don't go all serious on it & feel the need to critize every scene :p.
2) You do you ! Don't try to be something you are not but in order to be yourself you have to know yourself.
3) If there are rules, get to know them .
4) if there are no rules, make some for yourself .
🌟🌟🌟Two beautiful quotes from the movie:
"Time to do what you so best"
"Taking care of people you love is fundamental"
In a way, the movie was a long advertisment of WB's many many many achievements through out the years.
I really can't wait for the new Matrix movie to come out !!!!! This is definitely an adult movie i will be watching at the movies
