Our recently published study in the special edition "Novel Approaches in Food Preservation and Their Impact on the Food System" looks at UV-C light and vacuum sealing effects on beef, seafood, and chicken. Our results found the lifespan of these foods was extended by 66% compared to other food preservation methods. Once you have your food placed in the container, have it vacuum sealed and ready to go, you simply use the app to make sure you don't forget about your food. In addition, the app will let you know recipes to use with the food, and even give you a notice that the food is reaching the end of its life and needs to be used. A lot of the food waste seen in the world is due to simply forgetting what you have in your fridge!
