Job Description
AJC Consult is seeking a Hydrologist to join our Hydrological Studies Department at the Cairo office. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise and guidance on a variety of hydrology projects and support a diverse range of water science initiatives.
• Develop hydrological assessments, including flood risk, water resource, and drought risk assessments.
• Conduct hydrological modeling and analysis for conceptual site models and risk assessments.
• Prepare technical reports, proposals, and documents for clients and regulators.
• Collaborate with senior staff on project management and technical guidance.

Skills
• Experience with hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-HMS, WMS, HEC-RAS, Culvert Master, HYFRAN PLUS.
• Familiar with GIS, Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Good analytical skills and the ability to interpret meteorological data sets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in GIS and remote sensing applications.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree (Irrigation and drainage), preferably holds a Master’s degree in Hydrology.
• +2 years of experience in the hydrological studies field, especially in KSA projects.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

xtract 3D buildings from lidar data

Classify a lidar dataset, extract 2D building footprints, and generate 3D multipatch buildings.

Tuborg Havn is a newly redeveloped mixed-use neighborhood in Copenhagen, Denmark. The City of Copenhagen wants a 3D model of the buildings in the neighborhood to use in further urban planning activities, flood prediction analysis, shadow impact analyses, viewshed and line of sight analyses, and more. As a remote sensing analyst for the city, you'll use lidar point cloud data in ArcGIS Pro to extract the 3D representation. You'll create and classify a LAS dataset, extract a digital elevation model (DEM) and 2D building footprints, and generate 3D multipatch buildings.

This tutorial was last tested on June 24, 2024, using ArcGIS Pro 3.3. If you're using a different version of ArcGIS Pro, you may encounter different functionality and results.
