After eight consecutive seasons of archaeological and restoration, the site is ready for exhibition. Tomorrow will be the oficial opening to the community of Karima and the authorities.

Internet has abandoned us this year in Karima. Still, we have managed to sneak out these pictures of the work being done. Inshallah, all will be ready for the big opening on Tuesday!

We are starting our last season in Abasseya. After going year after year to Sudan, since 2012, we can finally say that the work planned for this site is almost done. In this last campaign the objective is to terminate the protection fence, add an explanatory sign and present the place to the community of Karima.
Big thanks for all those who have enthusiastically supported us through the last years!

In the last few days, we had our dear restorers: Margarita and Eva presenting at the "24th Annual Meeting of the European Association of Archaeologists: Reflecting Futures". In their presentation they summarized the restoration approach and methods taken in Abasseya, emphazising on the challenges faced due to the harsh weather conditions, under the title: "Conservation and Restauration in Abasseya B site (Karima, Sudan)"
