A striking photo, just arrived from our friend and restorer Ahmed Musa , showing Jebel Barkal and the Palace of Natakamani shrouded in sand.

Wind brings sand and homesickness...

Here are a few shots from the Museo del Vicino Oriente and the “Treasures of the Pharaohs” exhibition at Scuderie del Quirinale , whom we thank for their hospitality last week.
The visits took place at the conclusion of the Ancient Egyptian Civilization class ( Francesca Iannarilli Dipartimento di Studi Umanistici - Università Ca' Foscari Venezia ) and were part of the activities for the Erasmus+ students and colleagues

The photo with our Jebel Barkal lion-logo has become a tradition💛

Yesterday our Erasmus+ students presented their research in Venice for the class "Introduction to Pharaonic Egypt" (F. Iannarilli), part of the Ancient Civilizations for the Contemporary World International Course (Università degli Studi di Milano - Università Ca' Foscari Venezia).

Rayan Jarelnabi is lecturer in archaeology at the University of Khartoum, and she is carrying out her PhD at the University of Venice on the human remains from the Meroitic Townsite of Kedurma (2nd century BC to 3rd century AD), Northern Sudan.

Abrar Nasr is currently completing her master’s thesis with the University of Khartoum and is particularly interested in the conservation and restoration of archaeological sites. She shared with us a case study of the Palace of Aspelta at Jebel Barkal.
