مآب فاروق صاحبة بزنس Maab Designs، لصنع طواقي رجالية وإكسسوارات بالكروشيه مع التنفيذ بحسب الطلب.

بدأت مآب مشروعها في سنة 2019 لمن كانت طالبة كشغف وهواية، وبي دعم الأسرة وتحفيزهم ليها على التعلّم عبر الانترنت تحول شغفها لي مشروع.
واستغلت فترة التوقف للدراسة بسبب كورونا في تطوير مشروعها واشتغلت على عرض منتجاتها على الفيسبوك. ومن سنة 2021 تعاونت مآب في العمل مع بعض المحلات التجارية لمدة أكتر من سنة لحد ما بدأ الصراع في الخرطوم.

انتقلت بعدها مآب لمصر و شعرت إنها تايهة وما قادرة تواصل شغل، وأكبر تحدي واجهها إنه كيف ترجع تشتغل في بلد جديد وما كانت متأكدة من وجود سوق لي منتجاتها في مصر. لكن بعد 50 يوم رجع لمآب شغفها في إنها تواصل في شغل الكروشيه بعد عمل دراسة للسوق، وتأثرت في البداية بي ظروف نزوح فريق عملها لمناطق مختلفة لكن مآب قدرت تكوّن فريقها من جديد في جمهورية مصر، وازدهر مشروعها بفضل الله وحاليًا بتوزع لأكتر من 40 محل تجاري بالإضافة لرجوعها لزبائنها القدام وتصدير منتجاتها ليهم في السودان ودول الخليج، وشغلها نجح بنسبة فاقت 400% أفضل مما كان في السودان.

تحديات مآب في السودان كانت في عدم توفر خيوط الكروشيه بجميع الألوان كونها كانت بتنتظر وقت طويل لحد ما تتوفر ليها الألوان والمواد المحتاجاها للشغل، وبتشوف مآب انه الحل للمشكلة دي يكمن في الاعتماد على الموارد الحيوانية والنباتية زي خيوط القطن في إنتاج المواد داخل السودان بدلًا من استيرادها من الخارج، أو من خلال انشاء مصانع سودانية في الخارج وتوصيلها للسودان، بالإضافة لأهمية توفر المواد في كل المناطق.

وبتشوف مآب انه السودان محتاج لمراكز للتدريب تستفيد منها النساء في تعلم الحرف اليدوية وتكون ليهم مصدر للرزق بدعم من الحكومة.

برنامج سند وفّر لي مآب التدريب والبيئة التحفيزية الداعمة لأحلامها، وبتقول مآب انه البرنامج وسع رؤيتها للمشروع بطرق كتيرة بعد ما كانت محصورة في نقاط معينة. مآب بتشيد بي مجتمع خريجين سند وهي فخورة كونها جزء من المجتمع دا والفوائد البتتحصل عليها من برنامج سند ومجتمع خريجيه.

Maab Faroug is the founder of Maab Designs, a business that creates men’s beanies and crochet accessories, made to order.

She started her business in 2019 as a student, driven by passion and hobby. With the encouragement and support of her family and by learning online her passion evolved into a full-fledged business.

During the COVID-19 academic pause, Maab used the opportunity to develop her project further and began showcasing her products on Facebook. In 2021, she began working with local stores, a collaboration that continued for over a year, until the conflict broke out in Khartoum.

Maab relocated to Egypt and initially felt lost, unsure how to continue her work. Her biggest challenge was figuring out how to restart in a new country and whether there would be a market for her products in Egypt. But after 50 days, her passion reignited. She conducted a market study, and although her original team had been displaced across different regions, she was able to rebuild her team in Egypt.

Thanks to her perseverance and God's grace, her business flourished. Today, she supplies over 40 retail stores, has resumed serving her loyal customers, and exports her products to Sudan and Gulf countries. Her business has grown by more than 400%, far surpassing her success in Sudan.

Back in Sudan, one of Maab’s biggest challenges was the limited availability of crochet yarn in all colors. She often had to wait a long time to get the materials she needed. Maab believes that the solution lies in relying on local animal and plant-based resources—like cotton—to produce yarn domestically, instead of importing it. She also suggests that Sudanese manufacturing hubs could be set up abroad and connected to Sudan to ensure broader material availability across all regions.

Maab also believes that Sudan urgently needs training centers for women to learn handicrafts as a source of income, supported by the government.

The Sanad Program offered Maab valuable training and a motivating environment that helped fuel her dreams. She says the program broadened her vision for the business in many ways, after previously feeling stuck in certain areas.

Maab praises the Sanad Program Alumni Community, expressing pride in being part of it and the many benefits she continues to gain from both the program and its network.

خطوة جديدة نحو التمكين عبر الجمال والإرادة💄✨

في إطار شراكتنا مع مجموعة حجار، وبإشراف الخبيرة لبابة خاطر، اختتمنا بنجاح البرنامج التدريبي لتمكين النساء السودانيات في مجال التجميل بدولة الإمارات.

خلال أيام التدريب، اكتسبت المشاركات مهارات عملية في المكياج وتصفيف الشعر، وتعرفن على أساسيات التسويق الرقمي، وطرق التسعير وتحديد التكلفة لبناء مشروع حر متكامل من المهارات العملية إلى مهارات السوق. كما حصلن على شهادات حضور في نهاية البرنامج، توثق حضورهن وتدعم خطوتهن القادمة.

شكّل البرنامج مساحة آمنة لبناء الثقة، وتبادل التجارب، وتعزيز روح المبادرة بين نساء يسعين لصناعة واقع جديد لأنفسهن وأسرهن.

كل مشاركة أنهت التدريب حصلت على عدّة تجميل متكاملة تساعدها على بدء رحلتها العملية في مجال التجميل بثقة، إلى جانب دعم فني ومتابعة مستمرة من فريق البرنامج.

A New Step Toward Empowerment Through Beauty and Determination 💄✨

As part of our partnership with Haggar Group, and under the supervision of expert Lubaba Khater, we successfully concluded the training program aimed at empowering Sudanese women in the field of beauty in the United Arab Emirates.

Throughout the training days, participants gained practical skills in makeup and hairstyling, while also learning the basics of digital marketing, pricing strategies, and cost estimation equipping them with a well-rounded foundation to launch their own freelance beauty businesses.
At the end of the program, they received official attendance certificates to recognize their participation and support their next steps.

The program served as a safe space for building confidence, exchanging experiences, and fostering a spirit of initiative among women striving to shape a new reality for themselves and their families.

Each participant who completed the training received a fully equipped beauty kit, enabling them to confidently begin their journey in the beauty industry backed by ongoing technical support and follow-up from the program team.

With premium ingredients and delicious flavors, Awadia launched her venture “Areej for Sweets and Pastries.”
Driven by passion and a love for baking, she stands out by offering gluten-free products specifically made for people with celiac disease. Thanks to the support of the Sand Program, her project developed and achieved notable success. Discover the story of Awadia Elhadi Khairallah with the Sand Program in Kassala.

Awadia’s project focuses on producing pastries that are different from what’s commonly available in the market, using pure local ghee, and she also offers custom cocktail trays for both large and small events. What really distinguishes her offerings is her range of customized gluten-free sweets, specially crafted for those with wheat allergies, something she says has significantly added value to her business.

Awadia faced several challenges along the way, most notably not having a dedicated space to display all her products. She deals with her customers from home or through delivery services. Yet, thanks to the quality of her products and excellent customer service, she has been able to retain her loyal customers. New clients usually discover her through consistent social media promotion or word-of-mouth recommendations.

The funding provided by the Sand Program made a big difference - not only financially, but also mentally and socially, by creating a supportive community for sharing advice, ideas, networking, and building partnerships for mutual benefit.

Awadia advises other aspiring or current entrepreneurs to always strive, be patient, and stay dedicated to quality and craftsmanship in their work. In the next phase, she aims to grow her business further, acquire new equipment, and set up a complete product showroom so her items can always be on display and readily available to her customers.

From her hobby of making Aqashi, Aliyah found the inspiration to open her project, "Aqashi Gawhar." With Sanad's support, Aliyah learned the skills that helped her market better and succeed in her venture. Learn about Aliyah Ali's story with the Sanad Kassala program...

In her project, "Aqashi Gawhar," Aliyah prepares Aqashi, one of the most beloved and sought-after dishes among young people. Aliyah's Aqashi is distinguished by its excellent quality. Despite being new to the area, the reduced price of her products was a strong strategy to attract customers and increase demand. Aliyah says she chose to start the project because it's enjoyable, and making Aqashi had been a hobby for her for a long time. Its popularity among the majority was a strong motivation for her to start the project.

During her journey, Aliyah faced a challenge in expanding her sales points. This led her to expand horizontally in her product list by adding Meshbak and Sahm, which later contributed to the project's development and increased sales.

After joining the Sanad program, Aliyah's marketing and customer service skills helped her learn how to market her products better, deal with customers effectively, manage the project beautifully, and reduce the costs of preparing ingredients. The funding also helped her add a new product, enter a new market with new customers, and increase her productivity.

Aliyah advises aspiring entrepreneurs with limited budgets to first thoroughly study the market. They should find multiple selling methods, understand their area's needs, identify customer preferences, and determine suitable prices to work with. She thanks the Sanad Kassala program for the psychological and financial support and the skills she learned.

في شراكة بين سند ومجموعة حجار نعلن عن إطلاق برنامج مصمم خصيصًا لتمكين النساء السودانيات ذوات الدخل المحدود في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة (اللواتي يحملن تصاريح إقامة الدول المتأثرة بالنزاع أو الكوارث)، ويقدّم لهن تدريبًا مجانيًا لدعم فرص العمل الحر في مجال التجميل، من خلال تدريب شامل يجمع بين المهارة العملية والمعرفة التسويقية.

An opportunity to empower Sudanese women in the beauty industry in the UAE ✨

In partnership with Sanad and the Haggar Group, we are excited to launch a program specifically designed to support low-income Sudanese women residing in the United Arab Emirates (those holding residency permits from conflict- or disaster-affected countries).
This program offers free professional training to help participants start their own freelance beauty careers through hands-on skill development and practical marketing knowledge.

She learned sewing and design, excelled in ex*****on, turned her passion into a profession, and launched her own brand “Rose Fashion” specializing in handmade bags. The Sanad Kassala program has supported her journey from the very beginning.
Meet Abrar Abdelrahman and her inspiring story with the Sanad Kassala program.

Through her project Rose Fashion, Abrar offers handmade bags. She says that her most unique and business-defining product is the “Tote Bag”, made of fabric, known for being lightweight and practical.

What sets her products apart from competitors is her commitment to using eco-friendly, locally available materials at affordable prices. In addition, she designs her own original patterns that are warm, attractive, and loved by her customers. She also custom-makes bags based on clients’ requests.

Abrar shares that one of the challenges she faced was meeting group and youth organization orders, especially when it came to time management, since deliveries had to follow specific deadlines. She also faced occasional shortages in raw materials.
The role of the Sanad Kassala program in supporting Abrar was crucial. It provided her with the funding she needed to purchase supplies at the beginning of her business. It also enabled her to buy modern equipment to increase production and meet the growing demand for her products. Moreover, the networking and marketing skills she gained helped her access new markets and build relationships with potential business partners, such as local stores and youth groups.

Abrar believes that technology plays a key role in supporting handmade craft businesses, helping them expand to new markets and reach niche customers who are otherwise hard to find. في مدينة كسلا، وتحديداً في منطقة الختمية القديمة، كانت شيماء محمد تحلم بمشروع بسيط لكنه مختلف، آمنت إنه التميز في التفاصيل الصغيرة هو سر النجاح، وكانت نقطة البداية إنتاج الأيسكريم.

في منطقة يغلب عليها الطابع التقليدي في تقديم المشروبات، قدرت شيماء أنها تصنع فرق، وتجذب الأنظار نحو مشروبات بسيطة لكن مميز بالتقديم الجميل، والنكهات المبتكرة، ولمستها الشخصية والمختلفة.

ورغم منافسة الكافيهات في جبل توتيل السياحي، كان لكافيه شيماء طابع خاص، ومن بين الأصناف البتقدمها كان الأيس كريم والهوت شوكليت والآيس كوفي الأكثر طلبًا وتميزاً، بإلإضافة للقهوة كونها الخيار الكلاسيكي لزوار جبل توتيل.

لكن الطريق ما كان ساهل...
بتقول شيماء انه تأسيس الكافيه كان رحلة مليانة بالتحديات، خاصة أنها كانت لوحدها في البداية، لكن بتركيزها على المستقبل قدرت تتجاوز كل التحديات.

ومن خلال التدريب والاستشارات المستمرة القدمها برنامج سند لشيماء، قدرت شيماء إنها تروج وتسوق للكافيه بشكل ذكي من خلال الفعاليات والمسابقات والعروض خاصة للعائلات والطلاب والمجموعات، وقدرت تتوسع وتضيف أصناف جديدة لقائمة كافيه Mood وهي الفطائر والعصائر والمشروبات الغازية. بالإضافة لدعم البرنامج لشيماء بثلاجة لحفظ الفواكه والأيسكريم.

واليوم، بتخطط شيماء لتوسيع مشروعها، بإضافة الأطعمة إلى قائمة الكافيه. وبتنصح أي صاحب مشروع انه ما يوقف، ويحاول يبدأ بأي شكل كان لأنه الخطوات الأولى بتفتح الطريق لخطوات تانية، وبتشِير لقصتها كأقرب مثال.

In the city of Kassala, specifically in the Old Khatmiyya area, Shaimaa Mohamed dreamed of launching a simple yet unique project. She believed that excellence lies in the small details, and for her, the starting point was ice cream production.

In an area where traditional beverage presentation dominated, Shaimaa managed to stand out. She drew attention to simple drinks made special through creative flavors, beautiful presentation, and her own unique touch.

Despite the strong competition from cafés near the popular tourist site of Mount Totil, Shaimaa’s café had a distinctive charm. Among her offerings, ice cream, hot chocolate, and iced coffee became the most requested and admired items, in addition to coffee, the classic go-to for Mount Totil visitors.

But the journey wasn’t easy.
Shaimaa says that building the café was full of challenges, especially since she started alone. Yet, by focusing on the future, she was able to overcome every obstacle.

Through the training and continuous consulting provided by the Sanad Program in Kassala, Shaimaa learned how to promote her café smartly, using events, competitions, and special offers for families, students, and groups. This helped her expand the menu of Mood Café, adding pastries, juices, and soft drinks. The program also supported her with a refrigerator to store fruits and ice cream.

Today, Shaimaa is planning to grow her business by adding food items to the café’s menu. She advises every entrepreneur not to stop, to start in any way they can, because those first steps open the door to many more. And she points to her own journey as proof.
