Had a great visit this week to the University of Pennsylvania, a private Ivy League research university in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. One of nine colonial colleges, it was chartered in 1755 through the efforts of founder and first president Benjamin Franklin. The beautiful historic campus is a blend of Collegiate Gothic and modern architecture, with Locust Walk joining the original campus to the newer urban campus. Schools enrolling undergraduates in over 100 degree programs include the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Engineering and Applied Science, the Wharton School, and the School of Nursing.💫
🌟Penn received 65,236 applications for admission to the Class of 2028. Of those applicants, 3,523, or 5 percent, were offered admission. Ninety-two percent of the students admitted for Fall 2024 came from the top 10 percent of their high school graduating class. A total of 15,727 international students applied for admission to Penn’s undergraduate schools for Fall 2024 and 439 (2.8 percent) received admissions offers. Thirteen percent of the first-year class is international students. There are 10,349 undergraduate students in the Fall 2024 class.
The university’s athletics program, the Penn Quakers, fields varsity teams in 33 sports as a member of NCAA Division I’s Ivy League conference. The famous Franklin Field is the nation’s longest-standing NCAA Division 1 college football stadium in continuous operation.
