Another interesting and engaging topic in today’s Changemaker Session: What if Women Designed the City? Women checking in from Brasil 🇧🇷 Pakistan 🇵🇰 Kenya 🇰🇪 Honduras 🇭🇳 Norway 🇳🇴 Malta 🇲🇹 and Sweden 🇸🇪.

May East, an international urbanist specialised in nature-positive and gender-sensitive cities, hosted topic of the day, shared about her research and her book building on in-depth walking interviews with 274 women that offers 33 leverage points on how planners, practitioners, and communities could intervene in urban planning systems so that cities can work better for women and girls, ultimately benefiting us all.

In break out rooms May guided us to reflected around 4 areas of how we could make our neighbourhood greener, wilder, more inclusive, liveable and poetic, the 4 areas:

- Sense of belonging
- Green space
- Active travel
- Safety

To accelerate the work of achieving gender equality, we now establish the GLOW4equality Foundation.

Founder Sara Carlemår decided in January 2026, to establish a fundraising foundation, Insamlingsstiftelsen GLOW4equality Foundation. The Board: Catrin Myhrman, Sara Carlemår, Anette Tandberg, Vanaja Thirugnanam and Berit Möller.

Gender equality is one of the big challenges of our time, and a prerequisite for a peaceful, sustainable and prosperous world. Since its start 2019, GLOW4equality AB has been run as a non-profit social business, until now coaching women who drive change in 50 countries and positively influencing 14,000 individuals.

Through intercultural group coaching, training and networking, we bring together leaders, organizations and changemakers globally to accelerate the work for increased gender equality. Our group coaching programs are offered free of charge to women globally who in their leadership roles drive change. Our method creates ripple effects of positive change. Action is needed, we need more people to join hands to accelerate the work.

The foundation is politically and religiously independent, non-profit and operates internationally from Sweden.

Together we can create ripple effects for real social change.

Menstrual health🩸: topic of the day in GLOW4equality Community Session.

Menstruation is still surrounded by stigma, silence and outdated taboos – despite being part of half the world's population, one of the most natural things in the world and a prerequisite for human life.

💶 Pay Transparency Directive, a tool to advance gender equality within the EU 🇪🇺, topic of the day in GLOW4equality Changemaker Session. January 15th.

The EU’s Pay Transparency Directive aims to close the gender pay gap by requiring employers to be more transparent about pay for equal work or work of equal value.

This session you will get knowledge and facts about the new Pay Transparency Directive by Veronicka Rajkovi, Payroll Expert at Grant Thornton Sweden. Get inspired by this tool to advance gender equality weiter you live in the EU or not, weiter it effects you directly or not.

Huge win for women in the EU. Huge win for Democracy.

On Wednesday December 17th 2025 Member States of the European Parlament ”MEPs" endorsed a European citizens’ initiative to improve access to abortion care for women in Europe through a voluntary opt-in financial solidarity mechanism.

Abortion is healthcare!

gathered over 1.12 million signatures to get this through!!!! 🧡

After the vote, Swedish Politician in the European Parlament Abir Al-Sahlani said:

”This vote is a huge win for every woman in Europe. The EU has finally shown that sexual and reproductive healthcare is a basic human right. The citizens of the EU raised their voices and showed they care about women's lives, health, and rights. And the European Parliament delivered. This initiative shows what is possible when citizens and institutions join forces. This is what democracy is about.”

Throwback 8 years, to November 24th 2017, when I talked about my trip to Iran at the Co-working Community Gomorron Östersund. I showed pictures, described strong meetings with wonderful Iranian people, the amazing culture and architecture and I offered a Persian-inspired breakfast. 💚🕊️❤️

A LOT has happened since then. That trip effected me deeply as a human, hearing people’s stories and experiencing a glimpse of the extreme religious oppression women and girls live under. The trip became ”my moment of change” to engage in gender equality and women’s rights for real, and lead me to start GLOW4equality.

GLOW4equality empowers women to empower others and creates ripple effects towards gender equality.

“Safe and secure destinations and events”, Important Workshop in Östersund, Sweden Thursday. The region of Jämtland is a big tourist destination and event region. The Workshop included day fresh facts from the Police, insights from Authorities, information material and dialogue on how to ”identify” and report s*ex buyers, help people in prostitution and work together against tr@fficking.

Sweden 🇸🇪 is one of few countries in the world where buying s*x is illegal and selling s*x is legal, that to punish perpetrators and be able to help people exposed in this dark industry.

The event was arranged by a project hosted at Region Jämtland Härjedalen.

Hopeful feelings to be in a room of engaged individuals and organizations.
