🏫✏️ Time to go back to school? Here is your chance to deepen your knwoledge in the field of investigative journalism!

🔍✏Centrum för undersökande journalistik (CUJ) and Föreningen grävande journalister kick off their webinar series tomorrow (20th of August) with a session on investigative interviewing.

💻✏️ The CUJ Online sessions are held on a fortnightly basis and will be mostly in Swedish, although some are in English (like tomorrow's).

📖✏️The sessions are free and kindly open to all journalists based in the Nordic countries. In order to participate you need to sign-up, link in the comment section ⤵

Sugen på mer kunskap och fler insikter om grävande journalistik? På torsdag den 20 augusti är det premiär för CUJ Online, en föreläsningsserie om grävande journalistik ur olika vinklar som CUJ (Centrum för undersökande journalistik) drar igång i samarbete med FGJ.

På den allra första föreläsningen, nu på torsdag, har vi med oss amerikanen Jim Mintz som föreläser om intervjuteknik i den högre skolan, hur man förvandlar motvilliga personer till hjälpsamma källor.

Sedan fortsätter föreläsningsserien hela hösten.

9-11 November you have the chance to join the nordic seminar on cross-border investigations in the Öresund region, organised by NJC - Nordisk Journalistcenter together with Öresundinstituttet and us from Nordig.

This is the first course in the series of cross-country investigative journalism courses to come.

On track towards building a Nordic network for investigative journalists

Earlier this week we were in Helsinki for our first in person meeting in which the core NORDIG team got the chance to discuss the work done so far and set priorities for the future

We also found out about the really important work Yle Uutiset’s verification team is doing and talked about both the challenges and opportunities in collaborations crossboarder.

Some of us also got the chance to visit the newsroom of HS – Helsingin Sanomat - one of Finland’s biggest newspaper and Uusi Juttu - a news startup inspired by 🇩🇰 Zetland

In partnership with Fojo Media Institute and NORDIS (The Nordic Observatory for Digital Media and Information Disorder) we are hosting an online workshop on fact-checking for investigative journalists in the Nordic countries.

Professor Andreas Önnerfors from FOJO, expert on fact checking, will hold the webinar in English.

In order to participate in the webinar, we strongly recommend you complete the fact-checking course ahead of time. As the event will be based on the learnings of the course, prior participation in the on-demand online course is adviced in order for us to hold informative and rewarding discussions.

We have a new logo and web-page! 🙌

We’ve paired up with DARE Collective, who helped us find the best ways to improve our image.

Our goal is to build a network for journalists who want to investigate across-borders in the Nordic region. Though ‘looking good’ is not the most important thing, it still helps us reach out to people and build awareness about the work we have been doing for over 2 years now.
