HNV carp bait production in Sweden.

The Bait Mechanics started in 2009 with a very different outlook, to provide high quality bait and to give something back to the fishing! With our money we are aiming to produce even higher quality baits (if possible!), a larger range of products for the swedish angler but most importantly to support whole heartily the carp and carp fishing in sweden. The main man behind this ethos is Gary Benney,

an english angler who loves to fish for anything that swims, but especially big carp! Moving to Sweden in 2009 he sensed a lacking availablity of fresh quality baits available to the swedish market, and so has bridged this gap! With over 30 years angling experience and 20 making and testing baits, his extensive and firm knowledge of what a carp wants and needs and what has to be produced, hence the Swedish Bait Mechanics was born! Now with Birger holmqvist and Magnus larsson joininh forces, whom borh are very experienced carp anglers alike with years of own bait production, the dream team is complete! We Have a great group of anglers along side us to give input and help to make it the best it can be, these guys are all a big part of the mechanics, we work as a team, and a great one at that!

This past Friday, our friend took the opportunity to visit some work colleagues and made the most of the occasion by fishing the lake located near the company grounds.

Conditions were spot-on, and already during the first night, he had a take—but unfortunately, the fish managed to get snagged in the lily pads. The following morning, he landed a small mirror weighing 7.80 kg.

Later that same afternoon, another fish was lost—this time in underwater grass. But just before nightfall, he struck again and banked another mirror, this one tipping the scales at 8.10 kg.

The night passed quietly, but Sunday morning brought the real action. Between 09:00 and 11:00, he landed three fish with the following weights:

• 10.70 kg
• 11.30 kg
• 12.00 kg

The winning combo for the session was Zest presented in a TRC. Pre-baiting was done with corn, SL2, and TRC, which clearly did the trick.

Session Report from our team mate Mio – Östra Dammen🔥

Due to various reasons, carp fishing had taken a backseat for Mio this year. However, following a dramatic weather shift after a prolonged heatwave, he decided the conditions were finally right to get back out on the bank.

He pre-baited heavily two evenings prior to the session using 16mm OJ boilies and pellets at his trusted hotspot in Östra Dammen. For the session itself, he fished exclusively with a 16mm OJ hard hook bait combined with half a Zest.

The results spoke for themselves.
Over the course of the weekend, Mio had 8 runs and successfully landed 7 carp with the following weights:
• 4.0 kg
• 7.3 kg
• 10.7 kg
• 12.06 kg
• 13.15 kg
• 14.82 kg
• 15.1 kg (session best)

A truly solid session, topped off with a cracking 15.1 kg mirror to close things out. Mio reports he’s already counting down the days until his next outing—and luckily, there’s still some OJ left in the stash. Nice job mate!

Wow! Some truly amazing catches for our mates on their trip down to lake Tribalj, Croatia🤯🇭🇷 Nice job and congrats to all of your new PB's!👏

“The second week of July, fishing was booked at Tribalj Lake. I started fishing at 00:00, and already by 00:30 I had caught a nice scaled carp weighing 23.7 kg. The night was sleepless – I had a total of 10 runs. The fish were actively biting the whole time, averaging about 10 runs per day.

Extreme heat made the fish bite mostly in the mornings and at night. If you want constant action, zig rigs work great during the day. Personally, I don’t like fishing with zig rigs. All baits from SBM worked well. The bait that caught me the most fish was TRC 18mm wafter in a PVA bag with PVA bag mix from SBM.

I mainly baited with SL2 and TRC boilies, along with a mix of particles. It was hard to keep track of all the fish I caught, but there were 8 fish over 20 kg. The biggest weighed 26.5 kg, which is my new PB for a scaled carp. I fished together with my son Erik, who also caught his new PB at a solid 22.7 kg, and with my friend Damir, who also caught his new PB.” -

"The last fishing trip of my summer holiday was the best. I blanked the first night, but the second day I found two fish sunbathing. Two baits were moved thereabouts with one kilo of FP some tigers, and corn over each bait. The hook baits was one with a FP and a half Zest, and the other with a FP and a half Skwidz Brown. At dawn came the first bite, a beautiful mirror and a new lake record of 19.2 kilos!

I put it in a sack to wake up my girlfriend who slept deep in the bivvy, but first I put the net together. But I didn't even have time to put it down, when I had a bite on the other rod. It was the most beautiful fish in the lake, the fully scaled at 13.4 kilo. The best morning of the holiday! Here is he's own story from the session - "A successful four-day session with 6 landed carp. When I arrived at the lake and located where the fish was, my rods went out immediately and also a couple of kilos of SL2 and Triple-C that were soaked with deep fish.

After a heavy rain, the first take came but it got off but what does it matter when the next fish that gets on turns out to weigh 20kg 😀 With a wonderful feeling in my body, I fish further with great confidence. Most of the fish took on skwidz brown! - Niklas"
