While much of Europe is experiencing yet another heatwave, Sweden is enjoying what I consider the perfect summer. Warm, comfortable days, cooler nights, and weather that invites you to spend time outdoors rather than hide from the heat.

Last weekend, we went canoeing and I was once again amazed by how tropical Sweden can feel. Lush green forests, the scent of nature, warm, calm water, and endless peaceful landscapes. It's beautiful without being overwhelming.

For many people considering a move to Sweden, work opportunities are often the first thing they look at. But quality of life matters just as much. Being able to enjoy nature, breathe fresh air, and spend your summer outdoors in a pleasant climate is something you don't fully appreciate until you experience it yourself.

I'm genuinely happy we chose to spend our vacation here in Sweden. Sometimes, the best destination is the place you already call home. 🇸🇪 🌿

Sometimes it takes an outsider to remind us of what we have stopped noticing ourselves.

I recently read a Hungarian article with the intriguing title "The country without golden lions on wrought-iron fences." It describes Sweden as a place where success is rarely measured by visible status symbols, but rather by trust, simplicity, functionality, and mutual respect.

After living in Sweden for many years, it's easy to become "home blind" and take these things for granted. But through my work recruiting doctors and other healthcare professionals from across Europe, I often hear the same reflections: what people appreciate most is the peace and quiet, the simplicity, the way society functions, the high level of trust, and the closeness to nature.

No country is perfect, but sometimes it's worth seeing Sweden through the eyes of those who are discovering it for the first time. It reminds us to appreciate what we so easily take for granted.

The Swedish summer is all about slowing down. 🇸🇪

July is the month when many Swedes leave the busy pace of everyday life behind and spend time in their summer cottages, surrounded by forests, lakes, or the sea. This simple lifestyle—close to nature—is an important part of Swedish culture.

Even during this year's heatwave, temperatures only reached around 30°C in most parts of the country, making it comfortable to enjoy the outdoors, long summer evenings, and time with family and friends.

Summer.

The time of year when life slows down, even if only for a little while. When the calendar no longer dictates every minute and there is finally room to think.

This is often when the questions begin to surface.
