We all know that sequins are made from plastic, derived from fossil fuels, and they sit in landfills for hundreds of years.

Not only that, but these tiny toxic particles get washed into the sea and get ingested by the fish, harming our oceans and wildlife, and even humans too.

This week debuted the first garment crafted from BioSequins® which could be a game-changer for the industry.

BioSequins® are plastic free, non toxic, and biodegradable, and made from a plant-derived cellulose, making them a significantly lower environmental choice for fashion brands.

Danish fashion brand are introducing an in house recycling scheme to repurpose waste material into new fabric ♻️

The conventional making of a T-shirts makes up to 20% cut off waste.

Those cut offs are now being repurposed back into new fibres for feedstock production of new T-shirts.

The new fibre-to-fibre recycled yarn contains 50% recycled yarn and 50% GOTS certified cotton and will be used to make T-shirts for the Ganni collection going forward.
