MALMÖMORGON. At the upcoming breakfast meeting, Malmömorgon, taking place this Wednesday, 7th February, we explore how grand events, such as the Eurovision Song Contest, can create lasting growth and a legacy for a city. How can Malmö, as a business city, be strengthened by big events that can transform the city in a positive direction and become a catalyst for long-term growth?

Pau Solanilla Franco, Barcelona's Commissioner for International Relations and Marketing, has extensive knowledge of Barcelona's transformation before, during, and especially after the Olympic Games in 1992. In the discussions about Malmö's legacy, Pau draws from his mission to market and position Barcelona internationally to attract new investments, fairs and congresses, major events, and international talents.
Ulrika Hallengren is the CEO of Wihlborgs Fastigheter AB, which owns and manages commercial properties in Malmö, Lund, Helsingborg, and Copenhagen. Ulrika will talk about how attractive, inspiring, and innovative environments and events play a crucial role in strengthening the city's appeal. It creates pride among the city's residents but also attracts companies and competence to the city.
Robert Pettersson, a prominent event researcher and operational manager at the ETOUR Research Centre in Östersund. With his extensive experience in studies of the economic, social, and environmental effects of events, Robert has become an authority on how these events promote local and community development.
Harry Doyle, Liverpool's cultural council, whose area of responsibility is health, well-being, and culture. He is a driving force behind many prominent projects in the city, including last year's preparations and implementation of the Eurovision Song Contest. Harry will talk about the mega-event in Liverpool as a strategic investment expected to bring significant economic benefits and increased tourism and potential long-term gains in tourism and global reputation.
The conversation is led by moderator Lydia Capolicchio, a well-established and versatile media personality with a unique insight into societal dynamics. In 1992, she co-hosted the Eurovision Song Contest when it was held in Malmö.
