Winter is coming — and we’re warming up!

This week, we kicked off the very first International Biathlon Camp together with the Swedish Biathlon Federation in Idre Fjäll, Sweden.

Bringing together the next generation of biathletes from Latvia, Poland, Finland and Sweden, the camp is all about training, learning and preparing young talents for the future — not just as individual athletes or nations, but as one bigger biathlon family.

As a proud partner of biathlon, we want to help create opportunities for the next generation to grow, connect and develop — both on and off the track. Because the future is something we build together.

For more than 40 years, NIBE has been helping homeowners move away from fossil fuels with renewable, energy-efficient climate solutions. Today, as energy independence becomes increasingly important, our technology gives people the freedom to heat and cool their homes with less reliance on fossil fuels.

To some, it’s just another appliance. To many, it’s an act of energy independence.

The less your home depends on resources from far away, the
more resilient it becomes.

A heat pump uses energy that’s already around you – in the air,
ground and water – to provide heating and hot water with less
dependence on imported fossil fuels.

Because the closer the source, the greater the control.

The biggest conversations don't usually start in the basement.

For decades, home heating has been treated as little more than a household utility. Reliable, boring and largely ignored.

This week, we decided to give it a bigger stage.

From projections and posters to buses, billboards and national press, our latest campaign brought one of Europe's most overlooked technologies into the growing conversation about energy security.

Here's a look back at London Climate Action Week.

Never forget. A heat pump doesn’t need a pipeline.

Heating a home shouldn't require drilling into the ocean floor.

Yet here we are.

For generations, we've accepted the idea that domestic comfort depends on extracting finite resources from increasingly difficult places.

Perhaps it's time for a heating source that doesn't become harder to find with every passing year. One that doesn’t rely on negotiation, compromises or a naive hope that the world will always behave as expected.

This week in London, we're suggesting a simpler alternative.

Something that turns energy from what’s already around you – air, ground and water – into heat.

Because a heat pump doesn't run out.

Today in The Guardian, we're putting a rather square appliance in charge of a very big conversation.

OK, let's face it. A heat pump doesn't look particularly impressive. But as the conversation around Europe's energy future shifts from climate alone to resilience, security and ultimately independence, more and more people are starting to recognise it for what it has quietly been doing all along.

This is often the fate of the most effective solutions.

They rarely demand attention. They just get on with the job.

The writing is on the wall for fossil heating.

From Tate Modern to County Hall and Guildhall, we're bringing one message to London Climate Action Week.

A heat pump is an act of independence.

Europe's energy future can't be built on resources that eventually run out.

Every discussion about energy security eventually arrives at the same question: what happens when the things we depend on become scarce, too expensive or unavailable?

Perhaps nowhere is that question more relevant than in home heating.

The good news is that one of the most effective solutions isn't a future technology waiting to be invented. It's already here. What happens next is a question of leadership.

That's why this message now overlooks London Bridge during London Climate Action Week.
