143 Studies, One Clear Message: We Need Better Dust Control.
A newly published open-access systematic review highlights an important message for the construction industry: respirable crystalline silica (RCS) remains one of the most serious occupational health hazards, despite increased awareness and stricter regulations. The researchers reviewed 143 scientific studies published over the past 20 years and found that many workers are still exposed to hazardous dust because effective dust control measures are not consistently implemented on construction sites.

The problem isn't that we don't know how to control silica dust. The problem is that the right equipment isn't always used, maintained or positioned correctly.

The dust you can see isn't necessarily the only dust you should worry about most. If visible dust is present, microscopic airborne particles are likely to be present as well- and these invisible particles can pose a greater health risk because they are small enough to reach the deepest parts of the lungs. What a day Lungloppet 2026 turned out to be!

Last Thursday brought together people, movement, and an important cause – and we are grateful to everyone who was part of it. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make the day so special.

Our commitment to lung health goes beyond Lungloppet. Through We Care – Protect Your Lungs, we continue to raise awareness, share knowledge about the risks of hazardous dust, and contribute to a future where more people can breathe cleaner air.

A big thank you to everyone who ran, walked, cheered, volunteered, and helped make the day everything we had hoped for – and more. Together, we got moving, shared some great moments, and at the same time contributed to the Swedish Heart-Lung Foundation (Hjärt-Lungfonden) and their important work. But our commitment to healthier lungs doesn’t stop at the finish line.

Thank you to everyone who made Lungloppet 2026 such a memorable day. We hope to see you again next time!

Today, we recognize World Lung Day - a global reminder of the importance of protecting one of our most vital organs. Clean air isn't just about cleaner workplaces. It's about protecting the people who work in them.
