What a fun day! Yesterday we visited to ideate solutions on how to meet the new demands in the hybrid work environment.

Before the pandemic we wanted to work from home half a day per week. Post-pandemic we want to work 2-3 days from home. But is this always the best for everyone?

We all want flexibility, but we also want our colleagues to be in the office when we are. How do you create the best work style for your employees, your customers and shareholders?

During the event, we got to ideate and pitch ideas to solve these challenges. This was a super fun exercise and we got some great, and sometimes a bit crazy, ideas to bridge the gap between flexibility and creativity in the workplace.

Yay! Last week we met again for our first Tank Meeting of the year to discuss the topic ‘how to future proof when planning long term’.

Alfa Laval is building a brand new Innovation Lab in Flemingsberg, a big and long term project in an uncertain fast-changing world. Two main challenges were discussed:

Challenge #1: How do you plan for an unpredictable future when making long-term investments?

Challenge #2: How do you make a site attractive and turn it into ‘the place to be’?

Alfa Laval is facing an interesting challenge in the post-covid world - they are building a brand new Innovation Lab after 50 years in Tumba. The vision of the Innovation Lab is to create a place where partners, customers, academia and startups want to visit, meet, collaborate and thrive. Where creativity and innovation flow effortlessly and spontaneously.

Building such a place is a capital-heavy investment and the rental contract being signed for 22 years. How can you build flexibility into the new site, in order to adapt to the unknown needs of the future?

We are ready for 2022 with a new lead for Innovation Pioneers !

Longtime member Matias Pakarinen will succeed Susanne Fuglsang on April 1st. Matias Pakarinen brings 12 years of experience as a speaker, member and advisor and will be the new CEO, taking Innovation Pioneers forward.

Matias Pakarinen is an experienced Innovation Manager with many years in large corporations as IKEA, frog and several other assignments as consultant and advisor.

Susanne Fuglsang will join Ignite Sweden which is a part of Swedish Incubators and Science Parks and continue her work to contribute to Sweden´s Innovation ecosystem.

In the wake of COP26 Greta Thunberg just posted on her Instagram “the people in power don´t need conferences, treaties or agreements to start taking real climate action. They can start today. When enough people come together, then change will come and we can achieve almost anything. So instead of looking for hope – start creating it”.

At Innovation Pioneers we have been commited for 13th years to facilitate the learning spaces for innovation leaders to come together to share and learn to be able to create the change.

Our latest De-Urbanization Lab Roundtable session that we co-hosted at Arena Sergel together with Elena Malakhatka from Kungliga Tekniska högskolan and Henrik Eriksson from Vasakronan was a example on a series of gatherings of stakeholders that together co-created with the goal to create a pilot concept with a collaborative and inclusive approach to ensure that it moved from long-term vision to a portfolio pilot.

All our members will be able to take part of the work groups final conclusions in a report produced by Elena Malakhatka in the end of November.

The learnings and reflections from the Tankmeeting 57 ‘How to stay relevant in a complex world’ hosted by RISE are now published on our site in the "Member's area" and has been sent to all participants.

💡 We learned about “The Model of Innovation Embedment” - a model developed by RISE to answer the question “how do you increase the innovation capacity within an organization?”

💡 We discussed the Cynefin framework and how it can be used to boost decision-making abilities within an organization or a leadership team

💡 We dug into antifragile principles and how they can be applied to intrapreneurship. What are the key factors to boost antifragility and intrapreneurship within an organization?

💡 Lastly, we also learned a model for navigating projects based on context and level of influence. How can you decrease friction between the intrapreneur and senior management?

Vi är glada att ha startat ett samarbete med Unga innovatörer vars mål är att stärka ungdomars kreativitet och förmågan att samarbeta och lösa komplexa problem. Med hjälp av förmågorna stärks ungdomarnas innovationstänkande. Unga innovatörer verkar främst genom att tillhandahålla kostnadsfria läromedel och verktyg till högstadie- och gymnasieskolor i hela Sverige.

Vårt mål är att samarbetet ska bidra till att öppna upp för möten mellan våra medlemmar och ungdomar inom Unga innovatörer.
