Women’s mid-year transfer snapshot 2026 💫

Record Transfer Activity:
1,406 international transfers, up 19.2% year-on-year.

Spending Has More Than Doubled:
International transfer fees reached a record $28.6m which is an increase of 130%.

England Leads Global Spending:
English clubs spent $8.0m, the highest of any association.

Europe Dominates Investment:
England, Spain and Germany accounted for around 68% of global spending.

Sweden Leads as an Export Market:
Swedish clubs received $4.2m, more than any other association.

The Fee-Paying Market Is Maturing:
Clubs are increasingly investing to secure players rather than relying on free transfers. However, free transfers still account for 76% of transfers.
