📚 Just landed! 📚

We are so proud to have our hands on the English edition of Gun-Britt Sundström’s ENGAGEMENT from Penguin Classics, beautifully translated by Kathy Saranpa. It will be published 3/7.

The rights have also been sold for publication in Chinese, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Norwegian and Polish. 🌟

ENGAGEMENT is a masterful mordern classic, set in Stockholm during the 60’s and 70’s, a time of change when the nuclear family is questioned. The young couple Martina and Gustav try to break the mould and make their relationship work. They give up and leave each other, but always seem to come back to one another. Still, Martina discovers how difficult it can be to live without a ”husband” when everyone around you is creating their own families and coupling up. First published in 1976, ENGAGEMENT has been re-discovered by recent generations who can recognise themselves in the modern themes in this stark and unromantic love story.
