The Hatmaker • We’re thrilled to announce the first international presale for The Hatmaker (Şapkacı Kadınlar), O3 Medya’s new period drama starring Pınar Deniz and Selahattin Paşalı. MBC Group has acquired the series for its streaming platform Shahid and linear channels across MENA, with the deal concluded on the first day of MIPCOM, ahead of filming in November.

“MBC is a long-standing partner who knows their audiences extremely well, and they recognised straight away the strength of Ayşe’s story and the star power of Pınar Deniz and Selahattin Paşalı. There is no better way to open MIPCOM,” said Handan Özkubat, Director of Turkish Drama at Eccho Rights.

Created and written by Necati Şahin, directed by Ömür Atay and produced by Suzan Sümeli for O3 Medya, The Hatmaker (60 x 45’) is available as both a finished drama and scripted format.

Spanning romantic thriller, psychological drama and romantic comedy, the new slate builds on our successful partnership with TOD, following Beneath the Surface and Another Chance.

The first title is Alıkara (10 x 45’), which premiered on TOD earlier this month and has already generated strong audience interest and encouraging early momentum. It is produced by Karga Seven Pictures, the company behind Beneath the Surface. The series stars Miray Daner and Halit Özgür Sarı in an intense love story set against a backdrop of crime and grief. Işık is a gifted forensic psychologist living with bipolar disorder. Deniz is a homicide detective hardened by past trauma. When Işık’s father disappears and Deniz investigates his niece’s suspicious death, their paths cross in a morgue. As the two are drawn deeper into darkness together, each becomes the other’s refuge — two damaged people slowly making each other whole.

Doors of Destiny (Zamanın Kapıları, 20 x 45’) marks Eccho Rights’ first collaboration with leading Turkish producer Medyapım. It stars Esra Bilgiç and Birkan Sokullu. Sinan is a brilliant, reclusive computer genius whose life changes when he meets Nevra, the ambitious daughter of one of Türkiye’s most powerful businessmen. Disney Partnership • We’re thrilled to announce two new deals with The Walt Disney Company, licensing Turkish drama Golden Boy to STAR Life in Portugal and My Home My Destiny to Disney+ across the MENA region.
 
The agreements build on our partnership established earlier this year, when STAR Life Portugal acquired Everywhere I Go and My Sweet Lie.
 
“Expanding our relationship with The Walt Disney Company across two platforms and into a new region in just a few months is a marker of where Turkish drama sits in the international market. But before Meryem can answer, the police arrive with a warrant for Levent’s arrest. He is accused of murdering Kudret Kara, a criminal from Hülya’s past who knows the truth about the disappearance of Levent’s son Efe and has been blackmailing her with the secret.
