Savo Joi reimagined by // Now on view at

For this year’s edition of 3daysofdesign, we gave nine creatives carte blanche to rethink office seating, transforming the office chair into a design object in its own right.

Swedish musician and producer Axel Boman chose Savo Joi to propose the idea of the office stool as something almost animated, shaped as much by emotion and character as by function. Drawing from the playful and unexpected nature of his music, Boman developed the chair around a “techno punk” identity: dark, tactile, and slightly unconventional. The result is a piece designed not only for sitting, but for sparking creativity, confidence, and curiosity in everyday work.

Come by and see it for yourself!
The full collection of reimagined chairs is on view throughout the exhibition.

Savo Joi reimagined by // Now on view at

For this year’s edition of the Copenhagen design festival, we handed over the office chair to nine creative minds across architecture, design, music, writing, and visual culture.

Drawing on the idea that the chair should adapt to the shifting rhythms of everyday life, writer and editor Alice Morby’s interpretation of Savo Joi reframes the office stool as a versatile object for compact city living. Inspired by Italian modernist interiors, warm green tones meet chrome detailing with an industrial edge, while leather upholstery is intended to age naturally over time – “something that would age with me as I use the chair,” she says.

Come by to discover the final design and the full series of reimagined chairs.

What happens when creatives from different fields rethink the office chair?

For ‘The office chair reimagined’, Danish photographer and filmmaker Morten Nordstrøm approached Savo Studio through a lens of warmth, tactility, and longevity. Muted earthy tones bring depth and familiarity, while chrome frame and wheel details introduce a subtle industrial contrast.
Through the interplay of fabric and metal, the chair becomes both visually soft and physically inviting – designed to be lived with and kept for years to come.

Step into the exhibition to experience the full collection of reimagined chairs and the thinking behind each design.

Savo Invite reimagined by .njie.perfumes // Now on view at

For ‘The office chair reimagined’, we asked nine creatives to transform Savo chairs through their own disciplines, influences, and perspectives.

Perfumer Maya Njie approached Savo Invite with the same sensibility that shapes her fragrances: a deep interest in memory, emotion, and sensory experience. Vibrant yellow and green tones bring a sense of clarity and energy – colours she describes as “mentally stimulating, like the dawn of something new.”
This contemporary colour scheme is balanced with warm cream tones and softened edges – a Mid-Century reference inspired by Njie’s 1930s medicine cabinet.

Visit the exhibition to see how the final design turned out and experience the full series of chair transformations in person.

Savo XO reimagined by // Now on view at

As part of our 3daysofdesign exhibition, nine creatives were invited to reinterpret Savo chairs through their own lens.

For his take on Savo XO, Berlin-based interiors and creative consultant Christoph Kuemmecke looked to the timeless appeal of Mid-Century design and the work of Frank Lloyd Wright Jr. “I want to encourage a reconsideration of the office chair, not just as a functional piece of furniture, but also as an aesthetic statement,” he explains.
Through warm brown tones juxtaposed with aluminium and chrome, he creates a refined balance of comfort, functionality, and understated elegance, bringing a familiar sense of home to the modern workplace.

Visit ‘The office chair reimagined’ to discover Kuemmecke’s interpretation alongside other unique chair transformations.

Savo Spine reimagined by // Now on view at

For 3daysofdesign, we invited nine creatives to interpret Savo’s chairs through their choice of materials, colourways, and settings.

CAN architecture studio transformed Savo Spine through a playful exploration of colour, texture, and material. Using a collaborative process inspired by the "exquisite co**se" game, each designer selected a fabric or colour without seeing the previous choices, resulting in intentionally layered and unexpected compositions in three different versions. The final chairs reflect the studio's experimental spirit and its commitment to making everyday objects feel anything but ordinary.

Visit the exhibition to experience the full collection of reimagined chairs and discover the creative perspectives behind each design.

A packed room and plenty to think about!

Over four events at Testing Grounds Showroom?, we've explored ideas, challenged assumptions, and opened up new discussions around the future of design.

Last week, the final talk of the season wrapped up the series.

Thank you to from .design.studio and from Satori for sharing your perspectives, and to everyone who joined the conversation.
