My biggest struggle is brain fog. Living with chronic pain can be a real challenge, and brain fog is one of the side effects that many of us experience. It can feel like your mind is in a haze, making it difficult to focus, concentrate, and even remember things. It's like trying to navigate through a thick fog, every step feels heavy and uncertain.
For someone that has always had an easy time memorizing information, had an easy time in school. This is a massive struggle in my daily life.
I feel downright stupid most of the time. Everything that used to be easy is now a struggle. I try to cram as much as I possibly can into the few good hours I have each day.
If you're dealing with pain-induced brain fog, know that you're not alone. Most chronic pain patients deal with brain fog, you are not alone, and you are certainly not stupid.
Some tricks that can help is try to stress less, I know brain fog in itself is stressful, mindfulness, and get quality sleep.

I shared this 1 year ago. I think it is still an important reminder.

If we don't speak of mental health we will never end the stigma.

I am doing my part in ending the stigma. I suffer from depression.

As a chronically ill person, I have heard most of these, and then some.

I do believe in combining natural remedies with modern medicine.
BUT I have an uncurable chronic illness. There is no known cure in the medical community. IF modern medicine can't CURE me, then essential oils won't do the job either. It might help contain my symptoms, but it will never be a cure.

What are some of the well meaning advice that you have received?
Please tell me in the comments, or DM if you would like to be private.

I am an introverted extovert. This means I rejuvenate my energy both by being on my own, and by being at a party.
I fill up my energy the fastest if I am in nature. Either by the waters or in the woods.

How do you rejuvenate you energy the fastest.
Tell me below or in a DM.

I do this all the time.
Sometimes because people wouldn't understand, sometimes because I don't have the energy, but most of the time because I don't want to burden people.

What is your reason, tell me in the comments, or send me a DM if you want to be private.

If you are not happy where you are at, you have to be willing to step outside your comfort zone, and challenge yourself.

Have you stepped outside your comfort zone and seen change? Tell me about it in the comments or send a DM.

For as long as I can remember water has calmed me down. I am not sure if it is the sound of the waves, the wind on my face, the salty smell, or a combination of all 3. Either way the ocean relaxes me.
I love sitting on a rock, the sun beaming down on my face, the breeze blowing in my hair, and the salty air being drawn down in my lungs.
Or floating on the surface, listening to the pebbles being shifted by the motion of the water. The feeling of weightlessness. It relaxes me to my core.

What are your self care strategies? What relaxes you? Let me know in the comments, or shoot off a DM.

If you could see my pain, would you call me lazy?

This is a problem among patients with so called invisible illnesses. Such as fibromyalgia, different forms of arthritis, EDS, endometriosis, and many other chronic and very painful illnesses.

Please feel free to share your story below, or send me a DM.

I like knitting. In some of my patterns, you have to keep track of how many rows you have knitted.
As an example, knit 18 rows, on row 19, you knit 2, purl 1, and the pattern goes on.
Keeping track of how many rows you have knitted can be a challenge. Thankfully, there are items that will help you.
Like these pretty stitch markers. They are personalized with a little pendant. As you can see on the second photo, the plastic stitch marker just isn't as pretty as the personlized ones.
I was showing them to a great friend of mine. Elaine Hughes. She asked if I could make these. Of course I can. And a side hussle was born.

As a person who can't really hold down a traditional job anymore, I am often looking for side hussles. Something that doesn't drain my energy and something I like. Crafting is a past time I enjoy. But haven't thought about monetizing yet.
I will soon open the doors to my e-commerce. But if you want to preorder, please send me a DM.

I started a company called Jennie´s Joy Lab.
Why did I choose that name? To adequately explain that, you need to understand the illness that I live with. I have an aggressive form of Psoriatic Arthritis. I live a life in constant pain. Me and the doctors have been looking for a way to alleviate my pain, and halt the progression of the arthritis. So far we haven't been all that successful. Some days it is my sheer determination that gets me out of bed, other days are easier.

As my illness progressed, and the pain increased, I noticed that joy and fun moved further and further down my priority list, to the point of being virtually illiminated. I only had the energy to get the basics done. My energy was depleted by lunch, after a 2 hour nap I could make dinner, but there just wasn't room for having fun.

I lived like this for far too long. I got help in planning my days, and in doing so, I kstarted to schedule in things that I enjoyed, things that was beneficial only to me. Something I did for the pure joy it gave ME, and no one else. Self care stopped being an ugly word synonmous with selfish. I firmly believe that this shift in perspective saved my mental health in the end.

What does self care look like for you? Let me know in the comments.

P.S. the photo is my idea of fun. It was a birthday gift.
