Semantix acquires translation provider Teknotrans

Through the acquisition of Teknotrans AB, Semantix continues its acquisition drive, strengthening its offering in the global market and consolidating its position as the Nordic language technology leader.

- Teknotrans' business structure and customer base offer us great opportunities to strengthen Semantix' offering in the global market. They also have a long history of delivering high-quality translations with a strong footprint in the automotive and industrial sector, which makes the acquisition interesting for us. The acquisition further consolidates Semantix' role as the Nordic leader in language technology and multilingual services, says Patrik Attemark, CEO of Semantix.
Teknotrans was founded in 1971 and has offices in Gothenburg, Sweden, and in Split, Croatia. The company is fully owned by CEO, Christian Hammer.

🎄Christmas is supposed to be a time of fun, love, laughter and cheer, but isn’t it sad that we have turned the most wonderful time of the year into the most stressful time of the year? Have a stress free Christmas this year, that’s what we would like to wish you all! We live on this planet for just a short time, and not everyone is lucky enough to have a family and a peaceful Christmas, so be thankful for yor family and the loved ones! Because that’s what Christmas time is all about!

A walk down memory lane. This year it will be 40 (!!!) years since our colleague Susanne Niklasson joined the company, and the rest is history. But there must be some kind of magic involved in it all, cause she hasn’t aged a day since the day this photo was taken!! 😱😱
We are not quite sure why this photo of Susanne, Mr Dieter Hammer and late Mrs Margaretha Hammer was taken but we were happy to find it! For those who didn’t know, Mr and Mrs Hammer were the founders of Teknotrans AB and are the parents of our CEO. 😊

During his 15 years at the company Andreas Ellenäs has tackled many different roles, from Project Administrator back in 2003 to Production and IT Manager today. He is our inhouse “know-it-all-and-solve-it-all” guy and it´s more than once a day that we have all wished we could clone him so we can have him available every time we get that well known but totally impossible to understand error message “Object reference not set to an instance of an object”.

Seriously, he is the only one in the whole world who understands this sentence! Of course he´s a keeper!

I am sure you have already seen his lovely face in several pictures at our account but we felt that he deserved a proper introduction. Our own Mr Bilbo Baggins! The one who saves the day more times than the rest of us manages to almost destroy it. Luckily for us!

We are all so very thankful for everything you do Andreas, all the help, support and loyalty you have shown your colleagues and this company during these last 15 years! Please lets make it at least 15 more years! 🙏🏻

Day two and our new colleagues get to actually work with things, hands-on, instead of just listening to how it should be done.
We strongly believe this is the best and the fastest way of learning new processes- by doing them yourself. Of course with help from really good and detailed instructions as well as from all of us here at the office.

You can never ask too many questions and there are no stupid things to ask! Never ever!

We have all been there and we will all help to teach someone else these very same things that we find so difficult in the beginning.
Patience and empathy is the key.

Antonia Turic and Maria Dumancic arrived yesterday from Split, ready for their two week training at our office here in Gothenburg before they go back to Split and join out team of project managers over there.

Just a few minutes. That’s all it takes to make a difference in this strange world full of human beings who simply seem to lack the humanity and empathy for other living creatures.

Somebody tied up these cute little puppies in a plastic bag and threw them in a trash container close to our office in Split.
Luckily they were found by our colleagues there who saved them and contacted the local pet rescue shelter who then came and took over the puppies.

Ana, Ivan, Antonela, Lana, Ivana, Josipa, Antonia and Marko (who wasn’t there when this happened but who I KNOW would do the same as the rest of you guys) I am so happy and thankful to know you and to be your colleague! You should be really proud of yourselves! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Last week Teknotrans attended Elia’s conference with focus on Project Management, held in Porto Portugal.

Just as promised, we learned a lot, exchanged experiences with other colleagues working all over the world, and got to know so many interesting people working in this amazing business. But most of all, we had fun while doing all this.

Thank you to entire Elia team behind this project! It was a pleasure being there!
