Sometimes the constraint on a power plant isn’t the turbine. It’s the system cooling it.
At a gas-fired power station in Malaysia, the l**e oil cooling for three Frame 6B gas turbines was running past its design temperature. The turbines couldn’t hold rated output — and the stopgap, spraying water over the coolers, was causing corrosion and wastewater problems of its own.
Navsar engineered a system-level retrofit: from water-cooled to ground-mounted air-cooled heat exchangers, with independent pumps and a PLC-sequenced fan control system. Study, design, supply and commissioning, much of it handled remotely.
A cooling system returned to reliable operation, without the workaround that was quietly damaging the plant.
The system around the equipment is often what decides whether the equipment can run.
