Most people assume that tools like Claude Code can just slot into whatever website setup they already have. They can't and understanding why will save you a lot of time and money.

The real question isn't "should I use AI to build my website?"

It's: which type of AI help matches where you actually are right now?

There are three genuinely different paths depending on your starting point and they're not equal. The right choice for a business on Squarespace or WordPress that's happy with their site looks completely different from the right choice for a business that's outgrown their platform.

The more important question is: once your site is built, how does it get found? Not just by Google. By AI.

SEO and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) are not the same discipline — and the gap between them is where a lot of businesses are quietly losing visibility right now. Neither is solved by the tool you use to build your site. Both require a deliberate content strategy that most people aren't thinking about yet.

Most organizations don't have a knowledge management problem.
They have a culture and incentive problem they keep solving with tools.

🧐 SharePoint didn't fix it.
🧐 Confluence didn't fix it.
🧐 Notion didn't fix it.

AI won't fix it either — because AI can only surface what was captured.

And in most organizations, critical knowledge is still tribal, siloed, and living in people's heads. The real question leaders avoid:

👉 What would it cost if that person left tomorrow?

Not the hiring cost. The knowledge cost. Most don't want to calculate it. But it's accumulating quietly, every day.

We wrote about what actually drives this — and what real knowledge readiness looks like across People, Process and Platform.

We are spending more on CX technology than ever before.

And 83% of customers still say their experiences should be better.

That should stop every CX leader in their tracks.
In 2026, the problem isn't AI capability. It's deployment philosophy. Most organisations have optimised AI for cost efficiency — reducing handling time, deflecting tickets, automating queries. What they haven't optimised for is the emotional dimension: feeling genuinely understood, valued, and helped.

And here's the tension nobody wants to talk about: 67% of customers want digital services to act more human when they're stressed — but only 27% are comfortable with AI reading their emotional signals.

That's the CX paradox we're all navigating right now.

The organisations winning in CX aren't deploying the most AI. They're deploying it most thoughtfully — with clear principles about where human judgment is irreplaceable, and a genuine commitment to using technology to amplify people, not replace them.

We've written a strategic guide for APAC leaders on exactly this — including a practical 90-day CX AI assessment framework and the emotional stakes matrix I use when advising clients on where to deploy AI vs. where to protect human touchpoints.

Would love to know: where are you drawing the line between AI and human in your CX model?

Quick question: when someone asks ChatGPT “which marketing consultant should I hire?” — does your brand come up?

If you don’t know the answer, you’re not alone. Most businesses have no idea whether they’re visible in AI search — and that’s quietly costing them at the very top of their funnel.

Here’s what’s changed: 60% of Google searches now end without a click. People are getting their answers directly from AI — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews — without ever visiting a website. And the brands that get cited in those AI answers are the ones who built their content with this in mind.

This is called Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), and it’s the next evolution of SEO.

We’ve just published a practical guide that explains exactly what it is, why it matters right now, and a clear 5-step framework to start getting your brand into AI-generated answers.

No jargon. Just a clear, actionable read — whether you’re a business owner, marketer, or just curious about where search is heading.
