The vision is to pioneer novel medical solutions that profoundly transform the way we live, through refined technology presented in harmonious form.

To express this, the packaging is juxtaposed with a body as landscape. Its sensations embodying healing and relief, in parallel with the product’s benefits on the body and the deliberate tactility of the box.

To translate this series in a way that was true to its essence, we’re grateful to have collaborated with the talents of photographer Rachel Loh, assisted by Quinn Lum, and movement artist Ivan Koh

Through Ivan’s movements, healing and relief are embodied as physical sensations that realises both the benefits of the product experienced by the body, as well as the intention behind the tactility of the box.

A relief that’s revolutionary

The Xativa range was conceived by a pharmaceutical company with a focus on innovative therapies to improve the lives of people living with chronic pain and other health conditions.

The brand - A creator and hero of novel medical solutions that support healthy and fulfilling lives, with a vision to profoundly transform the way we live through refined technology presented in harmonious form.

Inspired by the transcendent calm of Zen gardens, the ripples manifest as embossed patterns on the packaging, of which tactility evokes a sense of therapeutic comfort when in contact with patients’ hands.

The vision is to se-cure a greener future for the next generation, where every child knows SWM as a leader of e-waste recovery, and in turn, inspiring the new generation to continue the efforts of circularity and sustainability.

Contrasting clean lines with visuals of humans and the earth in harmony, the brand integrates man and nature in a symbiotic relationship where one is not separate from another, instead, co-creates and co-exists.

The SWM brand identity is inspired by their journey in e-waste recycling – From the Karung Guni Rag-and-bone man of the distant past – the original backbone of the nationwide recycling efforts, to an innovation-driven brand focusing on technological innovation and operational excellence, and their commitment to being stewards of the earth.

Reminiscent of the frontiers of innovation, the logotype shows SWM’s aspiration to make waves in the recycling industry. The logo goes from grey to lush green to represent the transition from past to future, a journey they embraced as part of their story.

The art of design, the science of management.

Taking cue from the team’s aspiration to find perfection and precision in design and management, the brand elements emerge from structured grids. Forms, both angular and curvy, originate from interior blueprints and trace these grids to form the logotype “AKG”.

The typographic shapes demarcate spaces on various brand touchpoints, merging and dividing the layout for information to be organised. Negative space is embraced to create a sense of “space to be designed”.

How might we re-establish Yakult as the incumbent probiotics cultured milk drink as well as communicate its competitive advantage from its longstanding research and experience in the field?

A re-alignment of Yakult’s packaging consolidated the products under the Yakult brand, and with stronger visibility on retail shelves, customers could now easily navigate their range of offerings according to their needs.

Together with clearer communication of the brand’s key selling points – their global presence and exclusive probiotic strain – the new packaging design gave them a competitive edge in the market.

Since the packaging refresh, sales numbers increased.
