“Building Legacy through Change Leadership”

This was the underlying theme of Wong Mei Wai's guest lecture, where she shared her Change & Transformation stories during Professor Dr. Pisitta Vongswasdi's People-Oriented Leadership session for the Kellogg-WHU Executive MBA in Vallendar, Germany.

Addressing a distinguished cohort of around 70 EMBA global executives and senior professionals from the Kellogg EMBA programmes (Germany, Chicago, Miami, Canada, Hong Kong, and Beijing), Mei Wai shared her Change stories and insights from years of working as a serial Change Agent across industries alongside CEOs, Boards, and senior leadership teams in family businesses and listed organisations across APAC and globally.

Drawing from her work in organisational Change leadership across Brand, Technology, and People, she spoke candidly about leading transformation in complex and evolving business environments.

Themes emerged consistently across her successful Change journeys:

• Change Begins with Ourselves

Leaders who genuinely embrace change and work on themselves drive stronger organisational change outcomes than those who rush into surface-level change.

• Be That “Bridge” with Change

More successful change occurs when leaders effectively bridge change challenges through clarity, trust, oversight, and hands-on leadership.

• Be Prepared to “Dance” with Change

Because change is “live,” leaders must adapt in real time to emotional, organisational, and multi-cultural realities.

• The Softer Side of Change Is Harder to Observe

The psychodynamics of change, including human behaviour, organisational psychology, team dynamics, and culture, are often underestimated despite their impact on success or failure.

• Build Your Brand

Strong change leaders build both organisational capability and personal credibility. Mei Wai also shared her perspectives and tips on developing a trusted leadership brand in transformation environments.

The programme concluded with a farewell boat party on the Rhine River following their two-year EMBA programme. Amidst meeting new faces, conversations continued about the future of leadership, family business legacy and cross-cultural change management. What a celebration of a two-year learning journey, while creatively presenting their winning AI music developments, which was truly impressive!

Thank you to Professor Dr. Pisitta Vongswasdi and WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management for hosting an engaging dialogue on leadership and Change. Special thanks to Katrin Baedorf and Amirtha Raja for your warm welcome and for making Mei Wai's journey smooth and special in Germany.

As organisations continue to navigate disruption, the ability to lead change effectively remains a defining leadership capability.

What began as an invitation from Arshia Narkar to the panel for The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)'s Women in Business Empowerment Week has grown into a five-year tradition.

Each year, Wong Mei Wai, Founder, CEO & Chief Change Advisor of APAC Global Advisory; Lorna Strong, Associate Programme Director MSc Law and Finance at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and Managing Director of Stong Consulting Group; Anshula Kant, Managing Director and World Bank Group Chief Financial Officer and Arshia Narkar, AI Product Manager at Amazon, continue to reconnect to share their journeys across industries, cultures and countries, through different perspectives and experiences.

What continues to stand out across these conversations is their courage to embrace change and make defining choices in pursuit of both personal and professional growth, often across geographies.

These conversations reflect how different perspectives can deepen relationships that are built with intention, shaped by different experiences and evolving contexts.

May this tradition continue to grow for many years to come.

It was refreshing for both Wong Mei Wai and Ban Leong Oo to carve out dedicated out-of-office time to truly walk the talk by taking time to step into this journey and to be among a community of like-minded individuals committed to driving Change. As part of a growing network of 243 Fellows, alongside 184 organisations that have come before us, this marks the beginning of a shared journey towards greater impact.

In line with integrating profit with purpose and contributing towards advancing Singapore as a City of Good, this was also a meaningful moment to reflect on how our Purpose of “Building Legacy Through Change” can continue to drive greater social impact alongside APAC Change Institute.

Beyond the Welcome & Onboarding for the Company of Good Fellowship 2026, thank you to National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) for hosting a content-rich session over lunch - a strong start that offered a glimpse into what is possible through this journey, as we look to drive Change and scale impact across the People, Society, Governance, Environment, and Economic dimensions.

As Change Leaders with years of experience across transformation, and as builders of our own ventures, this marks an important starting point to further activate our purpose - integrating and amplifying how we contribute to meaningful social impact through APAC Change Institute.

It was a privilege to engage with and hear from Tony Soh, CEO of NVPC; Sufei Lin, Director of Corporate & Industry Partnerships at the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC); Kristen Koh, Head, Impact & Development; as well as Cheh Hsien Lee , Assistant Chief Executive of Sentosa Development Corporation, Abel Ariza, CEO of Everhaus Group and Nix Tang of Sentosa Development Corporation - alongside our wonderful groups and many inspiring conversations.

The Company of Good Fellowship continues to demonstrate how organisations can move from corporate giving to corporate purpose, equipping leaders to activate purpose and drive meaningful impact across ecosystems.

This year, we treasured the moments where tradition meets modernity, and where the first generation and new generation come together at Open House. We celebrated in a multicultural way to foster community and partnerships that became friendships.

From one generation to another - Building Legacy through Change:

At one point, we reflected on how the years have “galloped by”, and we treasure our Change Catalysts (and Satellites) who have been with us from day one of the founding of APAC Global Advisory. Our Founder is grateful for the unwavering support of Kwan Chong Wah, Ban Leong Oo & KL Wong for over almost a decade. The Lo Hei (捞起) - the symbolic tossing of yusheng (raw fish salad) served as a vital, annual time for strengthening partnerships and friendships.

We were also pleased to have our former intern and colleague, Project Executive Arshia Narkar, celebrate the New Year once again with us and the next generation. As she embarks on her new assignment in the UK, we wish her every success. Her visits each New Year remain meaningful as we exchange greetings, renew ties, and share food together.

As we welcome the Year of the Horse, a year symbolising vitality and progress, we will continue to seize opportunities to Build Legacies through Change.

Wishing you an auspicious and prosperous Lunar New Year from all of us at APAC Global Advisory and APAC Change Institute...

Strategic Global Business Transformation For Future Readiness and Sustainability 🌐

We partnered with a century-old, family-owned multinational that reached an inflection point as its legacy and portfolio structure no longer reflected the scale and global ambition of its expanding businesses across Building Infrastructure, Technology and Artificial Intelligence services.

From strategic definition, stakeholder management globally through to full ex*****on, we met the objectives by the newly defined Group to achieve a clearer and more efficient way to organise and position its portfolio while establishing Digital Headquarters in Singapore and Centres of Excellence across key global markets in Dubai, Colombo and Switzerland.

Our Chief Change Advisor, Wong Mei Wai, was appointed as strategic Global Consultant to define and transform the Group portfolio strategy, category architecture, naming framework, corporate positioning, portfolio brand structure, global playbook, websites, social media platforms, brand governance systems and adaptable toolkits and executing with their teams and multiple Change Catalysts.

APAC Global Advisory’s strength lies in their ability to translate strategy into strong credible platforms along companies to scale through partnerships and M&A, with tangible operational outcomes. Frameworks are robust yet flexible, enabling effective application across cultures, while their ability to align leadership and drive ex*****on make them invaluable partner in our transformation.

It was a privilege to work alongside the Owner, Board and leadership teams across markets, guiding change not only at the brand level but across the business system.
