🌱 UIDP Project – Site Visit to Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and Landfill Subprojects in Takeo Province ♻️
Our team recently conducted a field visit to the proposed Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and Landfill subproject sites in Takeo Province under the Urban Infrastructure Development Project (UIDP).
The visit provided an opportunity to assess existing site conditions, identify key environmental and social considerations, and engage with relevant stakeholders to support the ongoing Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) process. Particular attention was given to land use, surrounding sensitive receptors, drainage patterns, waste management requirements, and potential environmental risks associated with the proposed developments.
These assessments are essential to ensuring that the project is planned and implemented in accordance with national regulatory requirements and international environmental and social standards, contributing to sustainable urban infrastructure development in Cambodia.

As part of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for the Urban Infrastructure Development Project (UIDP), the K2A Environmental & Sustainability team participated in a joint site visit to the proposed Wastewater Treatment Plant and Landfill facilities in Prey Veng Province, together with representatives from AIIB, MPWT, and the project consultants.

The field assessment focused on reviewing existing environmental and social conditions, evaluating site suitability, identifying potential risks and sensitivities, and gathering critical baseline information to support the ESIA process. Discussions also covered environmental safeguards, stakeholder concerns, and sustainable infrastructure planning in line with national regulations and international best practices.

Successful Inter-Ministerial Dissemination Conducted for Hospital Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
K2A Management, through its Environmental & Sustainability Division – EIA Consultant Cambodia, successfully participated in the Inter-Ministerial Dissemination Meeting for the Hospital Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) project in Cambodia.

The dissemination brought together representatives from relevant ministries, technical departments, local authorities, and key stakeholders to review and discuss the environmental, social, and public health considerations associated with the proposed hospital development.
