We are incredibly proud to celebrate Joan Paula Cuya on achieving Level 5 – Innovative Planning Pathway! 👏✨

Her journey reflects resilience, adaptability, and the courage to seize opportunities — even when plans change unexpectedly. Through completing all 5 Levels, Joan demonstrated that strong communication builds powerful collaboration, and that leadership is about being firm, respectful, and purpose-driven.

Beyond the milestone, what stands out most is how she applied her learnings in real life — spearheading outreach efforts and introducing Toastmasters to a Filipino-run international school. That is impact beyond the stage. 🌍🎤

𝟏)⁠ ⁠𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝟓 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬?

In my journey toward completing the Innovative Planning Pathway, I learned the importance of seizing the moment, as change can arise unexpectedly. Just like my pathway, which was phased out even before I completed it, plans do not always remain constant—and adaptability is essential.

I realized that good communication leads to strong collaboration. One can be outspoken while maintaining a firm yet respectful tone, and through effective collaboration, projects can be brought to successful completion. This was evident in my chosen elective, where I took on a leadership role in my community organization, Alpha Phi Omega (APO). I spearheaded a communication outreach campaign that introduced Toastmasters to a Filipino-run international school, HFSE.

𝟐) 𝐈𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐓𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝟓 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡?

Completing this pathway gives me a deep sense of achievement. More importantly, the learnings are priceless—lessons I can apply not only in my professional life but also in life in general.

✨ 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸: 𝗕𝗧𝗠𝗖 𝗛𝘆𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻 — 𝗦𝗲𝗽 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱✨

Looking back at our Hybrid Speech Marathon in September 2025, we’re reminded of why we do what we do at Breakthrough Toastmasters Club. 💛

This was more than just a meeting — it was a dedicated space created for our members to speak, practise, evaluate, and grow, both on-site and online. A true reflection of our belief that every member’s journey matters, wherever they are in their Toastmasters pathways.

Our Speech Marathons are intentionally designed to:
🎤 Support members in completing their pathways
🪜 Provide consistent speaking and evaluation opportunities
🤝 Offer encouragement, feedback, and accountability
🌱 Grow together as a caring and committed community

Seeing members step up, support one another, and celebrate progress — including Best Speaker and Best Evaluator recognitions — reminds us that growth is never a solo journey.

Project Your Voice is a Club Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by Breakthrough Toastmasters Club (BTMC) in collaboration with Methodist Girls’ School (MGS), aimed at equipping students with essential presentation and public speaking skills.

Through this initiative, BTMC members stepped in as mentors and facilitators, guiding students on how to present with clarity, structure, and confidence, while learning to express their ideas effectively in front of an audience.

Across the sessions, students were taught and practised:
• Structuring and delivering clear presentations
• Speaking with confidence, presence, and purpose
• Using voice, body language, and storytelling to engage listeners
• Managing nervousness in a safe and supportive environment

Beyond technical skills, Project Your Voice carried a powerful message — every voice matters, and with the right guidance, young speakers can grow in confidence and courage.

For BTMC, this initiative reflects our commitment to giving back as a club and contributing meaningfully to the community. It reinforces our belief that impactful speaking is not just about standing on stage, but about empowering others with skills that last beyond the classroom.

We are grateful to MGS for the partnership and trust, and proud of every student who stepped up, spoke out, and grew through the experience.
