On 24 June, a fire broke out at a floating fish farm off Lorong Halus Jetty, affecting at least two farms rearing sea bass. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

However, the impact was still significant. According to CNA, the main farm affected estimated losses of around S$120,000, excluding rebuilding costs.

A fire can start when you least expect it, even from something as routine as charging a device.

On 21 June, five people had to be evacuated after a power-assisted bicycle (PAB) battery that was left charging unattended caught fire in a Geylang condominium unit. No injuries were reported.

According to SCDF’s preliminary findings, the fire was likely of electrical origin and had started in a bedroom. The blaze also caused burn damage to the living room and affected the air-conditioning compressor of the unit above.
