A month long school holiday, plus the introduce of heightened phase 2 alert measures past weeks, I was craving for a simple lemon syrup drizzle loaf for a nice afternoon tea, to be enjoyed especially during these times working from home.

My 3 ladies were super excited and we went on to find out this classic British teatime cake from our passing down family recipe book.

It has been a while since I bake this, but I glad I did as it brings back good feelings that arouses all your senses.

Shared it with a few closed friends and all of them loved it and suggested to sell this. My 3 JD ladies encouraged and supported me to do so too.

We are start taking in small batches of orders.

Have been wanted to step into the field of croissant making.

This is my first attempt into sourdough croissant. So much to learn and explore and yet with lots of fun.

Room to improve on the crumb structure. Gotta practice hard on my lamination skill to achieve that open, nice layering😉.

But don't get me wrong, the smell and taste still are wonderful wonderful!

My first try, and I am sure will not be my last!

Give it a light toast. Eat it naked or with sandwiches, both works awesomely.

This chiffon bake filled with a wonderful abundance depth of coffee flavour.

It is then topped with a creamy coffee buttercream.

Lastly it ends with final touch freshly grounded toasted peanuts.

Baked this over the weekend for my family , and it was finished off within a day! You know what, it goes perfectly well with a cup of black coffee☕☕
