This is from a Microlot which was sourced from independent specialty-coffee farmers and represent the highest quality and the highest level of traceability available.

Galo Fernando Morales Flores owns and operates Finca Cruz Loma, a 350 hectare farm located in Ecuador's Pinchincha region. Of those 350 hectares, only 8 are planted in about 30,000 coffee trees.This offering was harvested in November, the cherries were picked at optimum ripeness, depulped and fermented in water for a period of 26 hours, washed, and placed on raised African beds to dry for a period of 20 days.

These beans come from the Eastern Highlands, from the small remote villages of Lufa & Okapa where the terrain is mighty and rugged. Cherries are hand pulped the same day they are harvested before going into fermentation tanks for 24-36 hours. Once fermented, coffee is washed with clean water to remove the mucilage and moved onto raised beds to dry under shade for 3-4 days.

COLOMBIA SEBASTIAN GOMEZ GESHA

Tasting notes: Lemon, Rose, Sencha

Region: Circasia, Quindio
Variety: Gesha
Processing: EF2 Natural
Altitude: 1750 - 1800 MASL

Grown by Sebastian Gomez at Finca La Divisa. This coffee was picked following a strict ripeness criteria and hand sorted. Cherries were then placed inside plastic tanks to ferment for 52 hours at 23 degrees C. The coffee is then placed on raised beds below 35 degress C to dry until ideal moisture content was achieved.

This microlot is 100% Gesha.

It might sound a little strange that we are featuring a Single Origin from China. China has predominantly been tea-growing country but in recent times, has been known to produce very good specialty coffee. Most of the Chinese produced coffee is grown in Yunnan, where we sourced these beans from. This current batch was double anaerobic processed and has tasting notes of mulberry wine, port and pu-er tea.
