Feng Shui - the cultural clash.

The client, the Interior designer and the feng shui advisor.

My first line to the ID is ‘I do not interfere with your designs and I respect your creativity’

To the client - ‘I shall work with your appointed ID to bring you the best results’.

Occasionally, I stretch my patience to accommodate both ID and clients when they insist on certain arrangements.

I can only advise subtilely certain see-through designs that will quickly link one with certain taboos.

One example is not to have identical lamps by both sides of the bed and to avoid hanging a couple picture over your headboard.

Feng Shui @ Balmoral.

The former Sloane Court Hotel is now is the Sloane Residences.

I used to visit this English style pub and hotel in the 80s on Wednesdays. Why ? Because they serve the best ox tail stew.

It is now the Sloane Residences, a location with rich history of wealth and abundance. Look around and you’ll see the occasional bungalows and colonial homes still standing.

Oleander Towers is 28 years old and faces 2 iconic landmarks - the CHIJ school and Philips.

It is the school that gives this property its positive advantage.

As I remember it, amongst my clients whom I advised more than 20 years ago and benefitted, moved onto better places. One of the better consistencies is that all of them also moved up in their careers, one of whom picked up the role as head of a listed company.

On Mid-Autumn night, switch on all the lights in your dining area and living room from sunset until you go to bed. If you have warm or amber lighting, use those to create a comfortable, inviting glow.
