Ahoy!
With his Captain's Wheels locked, and anchor docked, Beadle Dee takes us this week into the Eastern part of this tiny dot, where good food is the name of the game!
Beadle Dee is at Bedok North today, and nestled behind one of the calm housing units, lies the dynamic and firecracking father and daughter duo combo, whose family has been serving up tasty food for the past 25 years.
Sinar Baru Seafood, led by owner Mr Syed Peer Hamed, 70, has been woking up food fanfare for food lovers with their enticing mix of Indian and Malay cuisines for the past 20 years!
They were once known in the local malay wedding scenes through their catering services, and even had a restaurant at Ubi, where they whipped up tasty mutton Briyani, along with delicious seafood cuisines like cereal prawns, sweet and sour garoupa and chilli crab.
Then tragedy struck.
After a series of unfortunate incidents within their family a few years back, they were on the brink of closing down, but they soldiered on now as a father and daughter duo to continue whipping up authentic Briyanis, and other mouth watering dishes for their followers. They now operate as a home based business, but that hasn't stopped them from maintaining the taste and quality of their food.
As Mr Syed continues to find strength through his daughter, Sinar Baru Seafood continues to shine through their determination.
Beadle Dee says, what don't break you down, makes you even stronger, and hungrier!
If you are into Chiili crabs just like Beadle Dee do (who doesn't? 🤭), don't miss the next part where Beadle Dee introduces you to their best sellers, and how you can order them if you are looking for something nice for dinner, or a family gathering.
Stay tuned!
A family torn apart by tragedy rebuilds their lives with home-based catering business and lives day by day with hopes of a happier future
