The Singapore government has said that it is not tenable to subsidise electricity consumption in the long term, as citizens must mentally prepare for higher electricity bills in the wake of the ongoing crisis. The government has said that they will subsidising extreme fluctuations, however it would not be realistic to subsidise every increase, however small.
