Last week I was approached by a man on the street, and he told me:
You look like you have some pressure, but you will be delighted soon. Sir, can I show you something and I DON’t WANT TO SELL YOU ANYTHING. I stopped, looked at the man and without saying anything, he wrote down by day and month of birth – I have never met this man, nor did I tell him.
Of course, he got my attention🙃.
Then he wrote on 2 pieces of paper, 2 words folded on the paper, and I couldn’t see what he wrote. He asked me to think about a figure from 1 – 9 and a colour of a rainbow but not red. I answered the questions, opened the folded paper, and saw what he wrote down. He predicted the result exactly – I admit, I was impressed🫢.
Then I wanted to tell more about my future and wrote 3 figures on the paper: 200, 300, and 500.
He said if I tell you more about you, you can pay me either $ 200, 300 or 500. I looked at him and replied: I thought you didn’t want to sell me anything?
I was thinking about this conversation and took out 5 topics.
1. Show your client that you are an expert. And inform what is
going on in the industry.
2. Get the attention (the gentleman did that very well😊).
3. Do you understand the customer’s pain points?
4. Tell your clients how you can help them with your solution. Differentiate you from your competitors and show in which field you are the best in the market.
5. Be consistent with your message (this gentleman was definitely not compatible with his word).
How do you show your customer that you are an expert?
