Under the new Tripartite Guidelines on Flexible Work Arrangement Requests, it has been announced that all employers in Singapore must fairly consider formal requests from employees for flexible work arrangements (FWAs) from Dec 1, 2024.

Whether you work in Singapore or not, flexibility is a hot topic these days and we often hear from our community at Moxy about how they wish their organizations offered more flexible options based on individual needs. So if you want to find out more about how to ask for flexibility at work, dive into this latest blog post from our founder, Khatija Aslam! Link in bio.

How should this employee go about such a situation? Some tips from us :
1) Have you tried asking your manager WHY the WFO requirement is so strict - is it a cost issue, feasibility problem?
2) Is there someone else you could speak to i.e. HR team, Director?
3) Are you aware of anyone else who is still hybrid working?

Lastly, have you tried telling your manager that this could be a deal breaker for you and what was their response?

We hope you can find a solution soon! 🥺

The proportion of women who go into tech has decreased in the past 35 years and now, half of the women in tech will leave their jobs by age 35. This is substantial compared to 20% of women who leave by this age in other fields.

The primary reason? Noninclusive company culture.

Thirty-seven percent of respondents who said they’d left the industry listed this as their reason for leaving. Another reason could be the lack of job advancements for women. Women in tech have only a 28% chance of becoming a manger, compared to 40% of men.

Note : This study is done in the United States by Accenture and more work needs to be done in Asia.
