VetTrust Singapore successfully conducted a 2-Day training workshop on the new Singapore Standards 676:2021 Good Animal Husbandry Practice for Layer Farms (SS GAHP) from 22-23 September 2021.

The workshop was attended by representatives from our Singapore chicken layer farms, certification bodies, Singapore Agro-Food Enterprises Federation Limited ( ) and also colleagues from the Singapore Food Agency. The new SS676:2021 GAHP was newly launched this month and will replace the Singapore Quality Egg Scheme which was introduced back in 1999. This new set of standards covers a far broader and comprehensive scope consisting of Food Safety and Quality, Animal Health and Welfare, Environmental Management and Workers' Health and Safety. Our local poultry farms have undergone tremendous transformations over the years and currently produces 26% of Singapore's local egg supply. The new SS-GAHP will bring our local egg farms to greater heights and provide a major boost in terms of quality assurance and marketing opportunities for their products.
