Sage Mediation was honoured to sign an MOU with the Bangladesh International Arbitration Centre for the joint promotion of international mediation last week.

As Mr Rumee Ali, BIAC Vice Chairman said at the signing ceremony, each nation’s implementation pathway for ADR reforms is unique. Nonetheless, BIAC could leverage on Singapore’s experience in developing our ADR infrastructure.

Mr Aloysius Goh, Sage Mediation CEO, agreed that this MOU must be translated promptly into actionable initiatives. There was much that BIAC could teach Singapore ADR practitioners so that our approach would fit the culture and operational context of Bangladesh.

Through this MOU with the BIAC, we hope to create more opportunities for dispute resolution practitioners to exchange our learning experiences. We are excited by the prospect of developing a platform for Singapore mediators to mediate in Dhaka, and for Bangladeshi mediators to serve in Singapore.
