Southeast Asia Expansion: Singapore IP Hub as a New Growth Engine

On 21 August 2026, PINTAS participated in a thematic exchange session held at the Tianjin Intellectual Property Trading Center, bringing together entrepreneurs, professionals and partners to explore opportunities and strategic approaches for Chinese companies expanding into Southeast Asia.

The session focused on the key advantages of the Singapore IP Hub, with in depth discussions covering intellectual property protection,
commercialisation and profit allocation. Participants explored how a well structured IP strategy can support international expansion while helping businesses build a more resilient and competitive global business presence.

During the session, Mr Lok Choon Hong, Director of PINTAS IP Group, Mr Simon Soh, Director of Unity Assurance PAC, and Mr Zhang Jing D**g （张静东）, General Manager and Co-founder of Tianjin Zhanyu Patent Agency Co., Ltd, shared insights from their respective areas of expertise and practical experience. Their discussions covered key considerations for businesses going overseas, including IP management, legal compliance, tax planning and value creation, providing practical perspectives for participating enterprises.

PINTAS IP Group, together with Unity Assurance PAC and the Shenzhen Intellectual Property Protection Center, successfully hosted the China Intellectual Property Enterprises Going Global to Southeast Asia Seminar in Shenzhen.

During the seminar, Lok Choon Hong, Director of PINTAS IP Group, and Simon Soh, Director of Unity Assurance PAC, shared practical strategies on leveraging Singapore as an IP hub, protecting and commercialising intellectual property, and optimising cross border tax and profit allocation for Southeast Asia expansion. PINTAS IP Group, Unity Assurance PAC, the Guangzhou Intellectual Property Protection Center, and the Guangzhou Development District Intellectual Property Association jointly organised the "China Intellectual Property Enterprises Going Global to Southeast Asia Seminar".

The seminar, themed "A New Engine for Southeast Asia Expansion: Building a New Ecosystem for Global Intellectual Property and Profit Allocation through Singapore's IP Hub", focused on the opportunities and challenges faced by Chinese enterprises entering the Southeast Asian market.

The event was attended by Yue Yong (岳勇), Director of the Guangzhou Intellectual Property Protection Center; Chen Bin Ju (陈斌菊), Deputy Director; Wu Ling (吴玲), Secretary General of the Guangzhou Development District Intellectual Property Association, together with enterprise representatives from various industries. The event provided a valuable platform to exchange insights and gain a deeper understanding of the needs and priorities of enterprises in their internationalisation journey.

PINTAS IP Group was honoured to participate in a strategic exchange session hosted by the Guangzhou Intellectual Property Protection Center to strengthen support for enterprises in Guangzhou and the Greater Bay Area expanding into Southeast Asia.

The meeting was led by Yue Yong (岳勇), Director, and Chen Bin Ju (陈斌菊), Deputy Director, together with Jiang Cheng Ming (江程明), Head of the Rights Protection Assistance Department, and Intellectual Property Specialists Wu Hao Ting (吴好婷) and Liang Jun Ru (梁君如).
