Seedborn ( https://seedborn.world ) is a project that I started sometime in 2017. It uses BabylonJs and Blender mainly for development. The game takes place in the fictional realm of Vroth many eons after magic has long since left. The races have interbred and diluted their origins. The only common thread is a vicarious love for food!
Trading in Seedborn is a huge affair evidenced by a sample screenshot of the Market menu.
From the top, we have a sample screenshot of a typical daily pricelist in Vroth.
You sell your produce to countries looking to buy said produce.
And you sell your stuff to countries you have established trade routes with.
The good part is EVERYONE gets some free trade routes at the start.
Prices are not static and can fluctuate on a daily basis subjected to events happening in said countries.
The trend column captures the day-to-day price change for each produce.
You can track events in countries based on the daily news found in the middle screenshot.
In the middle, we have a sample screenshot of a headline news for typical day in Vroth.
All the events affecting each country are captured and displayed here.
Shrewd players quickly learn that events happening each country can impact the price of certain produce.
Some events can impact prices longer than others.
Paying attention to the news will give an edge towards farm management and planning.
Major events manifest themselves as global events in the Event menu.
The bottom most screenshot shows the trade route map of Vroth.
Here, you can view the trade routes you have established and those you haven't.
Mouseover each country to bring up the tooltips that show trade route pricing.
Choose your trade routes wisely! Not all countries buy stuff you produce.
Having a good diversity of trade routes ensures resilience and is one of the core principles of economics.
That's right, Seedborn actually teaches you about trade economics, albeit in simplified forms!
