Last Wednesday, we brought together regional leaders and industry experts to redefine the "Currency of Trust" at the Excellence Forum 2026: Accrediting the Future Economy.

We are proud to officially announce the launch of the Singapore Productivity Centre - Professional Certification (SPC-PC)! As an APO-accredited certification body, SPC-PC is dedicated to elevating and verifying professional competencies in productivity and sustainability for the future economy.

A massive thank you to our esteemed guests, speakers, and partners who made this milestone unforgettable:

🌍 Regional validation: We were deeply honoured to be joined by Dr Indra Singawinata, Secretary-General of the Asian Productivity Organization (APO), alongside Accreditation Council members from 11 economies. Their presence reinforces the international standing and rigour of the SPC-PC framework.

🌱 Voices shaping the ecosystem: Our expert speakers— Dr Eugene Lin (China Productivity Center), Mr Albert Lim (SEC), Mr Hu Ching (SBF), and Ms Marisa Agrasut (The Inceptery), shared how Singapore can navigate the transition towards sustainable growth.

💫 Celebrating excellence: Our Chairman, Ms Lydia Goh, awarded certificates to our inaugural cohort of 9 Certified Professionals. Congratulations to these trailblazers for setting a new benchmark!

As we transition into a deeply interconnected green economy, accredited skill is one's greatest competitive advantage.

Data Drop: Top 10% of Singapore F&B operators generate 2.9x more sales per man-hour than the bottom 10%.

Based on our Food Services Productivity Report 2024/25, one of the secret weapons for scaling lean is Strategic Outsourcing. Here's what the top performers do differently:

🔪 Higher Sales & Less Production Time: By shifting labour-intensive prep (like sauces and base components) to trusted suppliers, top performers cut in-house production time by 40-50%. Your lean team gets to focus on assembly, fast service and table turnover.

📐 Optimised Space Usage: Making everything from scratch demands equipment and storage. Outsourcing allows operators to shrink their back-of-house to just 25% of the floor plan, dedicating the remaining to revenue-generating customer seating and displays.

Through EnterpriseSG and SGPC, local F&B SMEs can get funding support to make the shift:

1. FoodX Grant - Offset outsourcing transition costs with 50% grant support for projects up to $10,000 🔗https://go.sgpc.sg/sgpc_pop_fb

2. Process Optimisation Programme (POP) - Looking for a broader kitchen workflow or tech revamp? POP offers 50% funding for workflow consultancy and approved IT/equipment solutions. 🔗https://go.sgpc.sg/sgpc_pop_fb

⚠️ Important: FoodX application window closes on 23 March 2026 and grant is applicable up to 100 eligible companies.

On 25 February 2026, APO Director for Singapore Geoffrey Yeo (also the Assistant Managing Director for Capabilities, Product and Policy at Enterprise Singapore), formalized Singapore’s Strategic Partnership Program (SPP) Primer with APO Secretary-General Dr. Indra Pradana Singawinata through an online signing ceremony. This milestone sets the foundation for structured, results-based collaboration between Singapore and the APO as the organization moves forward into the APO Vision 2030. https://zurl.co/EXlTQ

Today at the FoodX launch, we had a candid fireside chat moderated by Michael Tan, on a topic that often divides the room: "Driving Productivity Through Food Outsourcing." The common fear is that outsourcing dilutes quality. However, our panel of industry leaders debunked this myth, demonstrating that strategic partners can be the key to preserving quality while scaling up.

Here are the key takeaways from the session:

🎙 Alex Lim (Simple Food Solutions) spoke about a mindset shift. Professional central kitchens have already invested in the right equipment and machinery that makes consistency possible at a level that is hard to sustain manually. More chefs today are open to outsourcing because it removes the most exhausting, repetitive steps present in daily operations.

🎙 Eugene Tan (Serangoon BBQ & Curry) shared how modernising the business through tech and outsourcing doesn't mean losing the "human touch". When operations run smoother, there is more time for customers, for staff and for touches that people will remember and appreciate.

🎙 Lim Yuan Ming (What The Puff!) has a bold vision - to give the traditional puffs a makeover and bring creative flavours accessible to everyone. For him, he is exploring outsourcing as a strategic unlock that prevents manual production from bottlenecking the vision and slowing growth.

A big thank you to our speakers for their honesty, generosity and willingness to share. 👏🏻

The future of food services isn't about doing everything yourself. It’s about building an ecosystem where businesses and manufacturers work together to create long-term value.

If this session inspired you to explore outsourcing, FoodX grant is here to support that first step.
