ODE Consulting's Founder and Managing Director, Jin Lee Teo recently conducted a 2 day workshop on Strategic Account Management for Assurity Trusted Solutions. Participants were highly engaged learners and took away useful tools that will better equip them for strategic customer management.

Over the course of 2 days, participants learnt how to help a customer buy and how to take a strategic approach to engaging customers.

This workshop facilitated a common sales language in the strategic account management process. Participants were exposed to:

> a strategic thinking approach to understanding the customer’s business
> building customer relationships
> asking powerful questions
> identifying and forecasting opportunities
> developing and articulating value messages and
> coming up with winning strategies to accelerate closure.

Leveraging a sales pursuit based on a customized case study, participants also actively put into practice all that they had learnt. One team member shared that the workshop provided "real actionable templates and guides that we can leverage on to do extensive planning as well as score quick wins alike."

So glad that the team had fun and learnt lots!

Many of us are facing this question: What do we have to do as individuals and team members in order to perform during this crisis? While we are working, we sometimes have to take a step back from our work in order to view the short term and long term view.

This article from Harvard Business Review reinforces that notion by bringing up the fact "keeping busy" is one of the most frequently identified coping mechanism among employees when working remotely for an extended period of time. However, the organization's needs may have shifted.

Definitely worth a read for pointers.

It is quite interesting to try imagine how the global pandemic could shape the way our environment and buildings are built in the future. To think that architectural design for our home and office, as well as lifestyle spaces, could turn out drastically different compared to a year before speaks volumes on how the pandemic has not only affected us as individuals but our overall interaction in society as well. Definitely worth a read.
