I’m proud to introduce everyone to 64 Club Street (64CS)! Envisioned as a vibrant purpose-built social impact hub, the space was designed as a platform to equip individuals with the knowledge and resources to become advocates of change in their communities.
Thank you Andy for giving me this opportunity to host the launch event. Hearing the insights from Minister Desmond Lee about the reality of social integration in Singapore was eye-opening - It definitely inspires all of us in attendance to embrace a more grounded approach to give back.
The event was supported by various Social Services Agencies (SSA) like Campus PSY, Happiness Initiative, Limitless SG, and Samaritans of Singapore. With their help, we prepared a ‘Sensory Voyage’ to drive actionable conversations with guests about mental health awareness. Check out their innovative exhibition booths!
Foreward Coffee Roasters was specially selected to operate a cafe within 64CS. It is a social entreprise that embraces inclusivity, by empowering persons with disabilities, special needs and mental health conditions through employment opportunities.
Furthermore, 64CS pays tribute to the rich history of the building, which previously served as the ‘Pondok Peranakan Gelam Club’ or a communal home for Baweanese immigrants until the 1960s. A mural incorporating elements of the ‘gotong-royong spirit’ was commissioned to adorn the walls outside the building, and was created by a group of young talented local artists!
