Acknowledging and Supporting may sound simple, but how are we really acknowledging and supporting the person in front of us?
In our recent Mentor Coaching Success session, our team of coaches gained lots of new learnings, awareness, and insights as we dive deep into just a small slice of ICF Core Competency 4 - Cultivates Trust and Safety. Definitely, a beautiful and thought-provoking session led by Liru Wang, together with the support from our co-facilitators, as well as the contributions and sharing from the coaches from our coaching community ๐
๐กCoaching is a constant process of skilling and refining our skills. Unlike other domains of learnings, coaching requires effort, where we adopt an active experimentation attitude, and bring our learnings forward to our next conversation.
Something to try out over the week in your next coaching conversation, or in your daily conversations:
๐ผ Are we aware of moments where we are actively acknowledging, supporting, and encouraging the other partyโs expressions? What happened during those moments?
๐คAre we also aware of moments where we unintentionally shut down or discourage the other partyโs expressions? What happened during those moments? What did you do after that?
Try this out and share with us your experiences and learnings๏ผ
