The Guitar Spa

They just released these New Japanese Made Yamaha FS7 R.

The 7 Series is a killer very loud guitar with deep lows that growl plus I’m not sure how they are able to have the clear trebles pairing it with the scoop in the mids .

Excellent sustain .

Owner was celebrating his 50th years i. japan and stumble at this new release ..
played it and got sucked into her.

They are forward shifted X brace that are heavily scalloped so you do need a dehumidifier or a dry box or else just 1-2 weeks of arriving the top will swell and the neck will move and your actio. will go sky high and stress or even deform the top slightly.

Video review is up .. i managed to lower the nut slots that were extremely high on this guitar .. reprofile the crown of the saddle radius while lowering the height of the saddle for a buttery action .

Just had this Taylor came in and it’s been worked before and owner was not really happy with it and had also issues with the pickup which we dial in to the root cause and replaced some parts .

The nut slots were cut too low and saddle was low so there was too much relief on neck but when you measure it on the 12 frets it’s good . So once we straighten the neck the strings buzz and string dynamics plus volume is reduced drastically .

We worked on a few FMI saddle and dyed bone pins .

The Anthem mic presence was also not adjusted to optimise on this guitar so
once that was addressed the amplified tone on the Anthem sounded clearer and dynamic like a mic up amplified tone. It’s small little details and changes like this can dramatically change the tonal outcome that you will get.

Worked on this little fella and if you are looking for a small guitar you can even fly with and fit on the overhead cabin then this one is just right . Small but huge tone , well made in every aspect plus the new CNR self regulating neck system that stable the neck even in high humidity situations . Owner bought this directly from Heirlooms Music and a few upgrades were done to her .

Thought i showcase some pictures of this wonderful guitar from Hozen Guitars . The trebles just rings evenly across the fretboard.

A work of art too ..

Remember this is The Gold Standard .. where others used this as the benchmark to compare their new guitars ..

Some called theirs .. The Gold Label ones and explained that it has that vintage vibe .. it’s all marketing ..

Focus on the real deal .. listen and you will know why they used this a lot in the studio and also for vocal accompaniment.

I’m sure City Music Singapore has stock of this for you to test it out.. but a great setup , slotting of the pin holes and added bone pins brings the tonal performance several notches upwards .. don’t take my word for it .. listen to this ..

Magic happens a lot of times of all under the hood ..

This one is indeed different.. it’s the bracing .. the torrified Swiss moon spruce …the Laminated braces with rosewood in the middle adds that sustain plus the lyrical trebles you hardly hear from other guitars you play

It’s the Vanda.l Premium OM with Honduran Mahogany ( not just cheap mahogany ) made in europe handmade by 2-3 experienced luthiers ..

these are available from Heirlooms Music

I have a couple of videos now on You Tube on how this particular one sounded with the FMI saddle , dyed bone pins and slotting of the pin holes ..

Some would say Taylor Guitars Marketing is a lot of Hype ..

We put the new Gold Label Taylor 512e to test with the Gold Standard .. Martin 000-18 in this fingerpicking comparison.

Tell me .. your thoughts ..
