Densoclad 50HT - Case Study 2023

A potash company located close to the Dead Sea in Jordan recently consulted on a project to protect a DN20″ pipeline, which they own, from the costly effects of corrosion.

The buried pipeline was protected with a Denso™ Bitumen Tape Wrap system consisting of a thin layer of Denso Primer D™ over the entire area to be protected, followed by a double wrap of Densoclad 50HT™; a medium-duty PVC/bitumen tape formulated for use in tropical climates. The system was completed with a double wrap of Denso™ PVC Self-Adhesive Tape for additional mechanical protection.

Denso Steelcoat Tank Base Protection System - Case Study

In December 2019, Oman Oil and Orpic Group integrated nine core businesses under a new brand identity; named ‘OQ’. The meaning behind the brand name is essential, as the ‘O’ stands for Oman and opportunity, while the ‘Q’ pays tribute to Sultan Qaboos bin Said.

OQ is a global integrated energy company operating in 16 countries around the world and covering the entire value chain from exploration and production, to marketing and distribution of end-user products. OQ’s fuels and chemicals are sold in over 60 countries worldwide, making them a prominent player in the energy sector. Salalah Methanol Company LLC (SFZ) a methanol producing company was one of the nine businesses integrated under the new brand identity OQ.

The Salalah Methanol Plant includes 3,125 metric tons of methanol plant per day, and related utilities and off-sites, as well as export facilities. The facilities include power generation, a desalination unit, a nitrogen generation unit, etc.

The feedstock, which is dry sweet natural gas, is supplied by OQ – Oman Gas Company through a pipeline. The target market is the fertilizer industry.

Based on the continued success of the Denso Steelcoat Tank Base Protection System throughout various industries in the U.A.E., over the last eight years, the client has selected the system as the best option to seal the berm seal of 15 tanks with diameters varying from 2.62m to 62.71m.

We have tested the Rapid Response Clamp against a high-pressure gas input over a leaking pipe.
We pushed the piece up to its limits and results were astounding: we've reached 20 Bar / 2000 kPa / 300 psi and the clamp was still going strong - That's a force equivalent to the weight of an African bush elephant!

Case Study - Densyl Tape System

The new Sustainable Tropical Data Centre Testbed (STDCT) is using Heat-AX solar reflective paint to reduce heat gain from the sun, thus reducing air-conditioning energy consumption.

A S$23 million programme to pioneer green and efficient cooling solutions for data centres located in the tropics to operate optimally.

The rise of the digital economy has led to growing demand for data centres that house computing and data storage infrastructure. As computer servers generate a lot of heat, these data centres are currently air-cooled at temperatures between 23 and 27 degrees Celsius, and at ambient humidity of 50 to 60 per cent as the industrial practice.

Maintaining such controlled environments require high energy consumption, resulting in high cost and carbon emissions – particularly for tropical countries like Singapore.

Using the right coating to reduce heat gain from the sun can reduce energy used to cool interior air.

The existing Gorakhpur Fertiliser unit, part of the
Fertiliser Corporation of India Ltd (FCIL) is located about 12km north of Gorakhpur town, in the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh on NH-28.

Denso's single tape system (Densoclad 70HT) was approved after consultation with experts.

Densoclad 70HT was used for roughly 700m of 16 inch buried line.

The client and contractor were very happy
with the product, it's an easy, user-friendly single tape system which enabled them to finish the wrapping faster.
