📘 Business Structures 101: Understanding Sole Proprietorships and Partnerships
Looking to start a business? A sole proprietorship might be your answer. As the simplest business structure in Singapore, it offers complete operational control to a single owner.
Important consideration: The business and owner are legally one entity. While this means streamlined decision-making, it also means the owner is personally responsible for all business debts and legal matters.
Understanding your options is crucial for business success. Learn more about business structures at: www.go.gov.sg/acra-business-structure

Amid slowing economic growth and escalating global trade conflicts, our preliminary data suggest that Singapore’s labour market is expected to see more challenges in the months ahead.
In 1Q 2025, although employment growth remained positive, the pace of growth has slowed, with some outward-oriented sectors such as Professional Services, Manufacturing, and Information & Communications seeing contractions in resident employment.
While resident unemployment rate has edged up slightly, from 2.8% to 2.9%, it remains in the non-recessionary range.
Businesses are becoming more cautious, especially with our revised economic outlook amid rising global trade tensions. The Government stands ready to support our businesses and workers to transform and stay resilient.
The Singapore Economic Resilience Taskforce, set up on 16 April 2025, will examine further measures to help businesses and workers navigate the immediate uncertainties and position Singapore for the new economic landscape.
