🌟 I am absolutely thrilled to announce my latest endeavour - a distinguished commission from the esteemed Executive Office of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Ruler of Dubai! 🇩đŸ‡Ș We are embarking on a transformative journey, where Project Renaissance Pte Ltd has the privilege of training, coaching, and leading 30 exceptional next-generation leaders over 9 months. Together, we're not only igniting a spark of innovation but also contributing to far-reaching cooperative governance & policy-making initiatives in this dynamic region.

As part of this comprehensive program, I’m excited to share that we'll also be bringing the delegation to our very own Singapore soon for an immersive field trip. This unique opportunity will provide firsthand exposure to our nation’s cutting-edge practices, fostering global perspectives and cross-cultural collaboration. It's a testament to our commitment to offering holistic learning experiences that transcend borders.

This collaboration represents a significant milestone in our company’s commitment to excellence. As we work hand in hand with these future leaders, we're not just imparting knowledge; we're co-creating a vision for Dubai's future, which is incredibly exciting and fulfilling on both personal and professional levels, to say the least.

Our goal is to foster an environment of continuous learning, adaptability, and strategic thinking, ensuring these leaders are equipped to drive meaningful change.

This project is a testament to the profound impact that visionary leadership and purpose-driven training can have on a nation's trajectory. We're so truly deeply honored to be entrusted with this responsibility, and we're excited to see the ripple effects of our collective efforts. Together, we're shaping a brighter, more innovative future for Dubai and beyond! 🚀

Albert Einstein once alluded to how we cannot solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them. And we here at Project Renaissance Pte Ltd couldn’t agree more, which is why we were prompted to create a methodology some years ago, that would allow us to objectively formulate effective solutions to otherwise subjectively-viewed problems.

We were thus so chuffed to be able to train senior leaders from the Singapore Armed Forces Medical Corps earlier today, and equip them with our very own aforementioned proprietary ‘Problem Solving/Innovation’ framework as part of our ‘First Principles’ program.

I was truly amazed by their quick and creative minds, and delighted with their utterly rapt engagement with us from start til end, despite it being such a cosy, rainy, Friday weekend!

If you’ve watched the show ‘Billions’ on Netflix, then you’ll know why this is such a big deal for us over here at Project Renaissance!

Once again, we feel so proud that a Singaporean boutique company like ours has been called in to coach such high calibre people within what is arguably one of the the most successful global Asset Management firms in the world.

From the day we watched the very first episode of Billions, we each envisioned becoming a Wendy Rhoades for a similar huge firm one day.

Well, never in our wildest dreams did we actually think that we would do performance coaching for the ACTUAL firm!

We are so excited to be able to coach such high performers of incredible mettle, so wish us luck as we chug along!

We are also so thankful to everyone that has supported our journey over the years and walked our journey with us! đŸ™đŸŒ

I always marvel at how life serendipitously brings people into my circle, in ways that I cannot imagine. Back before the advent of the internet, I often grew up as a young girl poring over fashion magazines & the ‘Life’ newspaper edition of the Straits Times, in awe of certain personalities who possessed both beauty & brains, & one such person is Dr Georgia Lee, Singapore’s most famous & stylish aesthetics doctor.

I had so many questions about her as a person, & I remember thinking & wishing that whenever I grew older & became wrinkled & needed botox, I might perhaps have the opportunity to meet her, seated opposite her in a chair as her patient.

But NEVER could I, nor would I, have EVER imagined that she would one day, be seated opposite me, not as my doctor, but as my client instead (!!!), whom I could ask all of the very questions I’ve always had about her, as they were central to the main purpose of our coaching sessions! (Thank you for connecting us, I am grateful for what you’ve graced us with. đŸ™đŸŒ)

I realised very quickly that underlying her statuesque high fashion & ‘ice-Queen’ appearance is a high-achieving nerd who is actually a true family physician, a dedicated doctor who is actually an ice-cube inside as she is someone who melts easily & truly cares about her patients beyond their medical needs. Appearances are truly deceiving. & her self-made, hard-earned success comes down to a person who is 1000% devoted to her purpose, her passion, sheer hard work, tireless dedication, & a pursuit of perfectionism she demands from herself with no excuses made. She’s also a quick study: one of the fastest learners I’ve encountered, with a razor sharp mind & she completed all of her homework dutifully despite her hectic schedule.

Time & again, I’m reminded & shown that underneath all the glitz & glamour of dazzling ‘success’, what people don’t often see is the staggering amount of actual grit work, blood sweat & tears over years that’s actually required & necessary before one can achieve extremely high levels of success like hers. You can learn more about her thru the podcast link in my bio!

According to the Global Gender Gap Report 2021, it’ll take another 100 years to achieve gender equality based on the current rate of progress. What can we do to reduce this ridiculous number?

Let’s start by calling out gender biases when we see or experience it, & there’s no easier way than by using this year’s crossed arm emblems to tell someone that they’ve crossed the line, much like a ‘time-out’ hand single.

Let’s also compliment young girls on their abilities & competencies, not just their physical appearances. Let’s encourage boys to express their vulnerability & emotions in all ways, tears & all.

At both macro & micro levels, let us challenge traditional possibilities & increase the opportunities for the equity of women:

1. Help more women come into power: a proven way to overcome many systemic barriers to a woman’s success has been increased participation by women in legislation as empowered change agents.

2. Use your voice: A woman’s voice & her ability to become a leader in her community is fundamental to empowering women.

3. Make education gender sensitive: Ensure that school syllabus & textbooks promote positive stereotypes.

4: Leverage on social media & private sectors to further highlight how women’s roles in the work they do provide the foundation for the global economy.

5. Raise aspirations of girls & empower their mothers and fathers, & build their confidence so that they can aspire to seek roles that were once traditionally associated with men, such as engineers.

7. Change how girls, families & society imagine what girls can be & can do. We need to give girls images/role models that expand their dreams.

8. Allow men & boys to be vulnerable. Emotions aren’t gender specific.

9. Examine our very own biases that we hold against our own kind: how do we judge & assume other women’s competencies & aptitudes based on their physical appearances? How do we unconsciously penalise them based on their (revealing) dressing, their (heavy) makeup, the brands of handbags they carry, their incomes?

Let’s create a culture where gender bias can be openly discussed without assigning blame or guilt, & instead encourage people to be proactive.

Despite how many times we've done it, delivering workshops/keynotes virtually to a different timezone can feel slightly disorienting when it ends - readjusting back to my current timezone, when stepping out of the studio. Like today for example, when Sunday is the first working day of the week in one of my favourite parts of the world - the Middle East!
